Job Overview:
The Assistant Vice President (AVP), Practice Management Consulting supports field leaders and independent advisors in driving business growth, operational efficiency, and improved client outcomes. This role is execution-focused and delivery-oriented, partnering closely with senior field leadership and Practice Management leaders to implement established frameworks, tools, and coaching programs.
The AVP acts as a hands-on consultant to advisors and relationship managers, helping translate firm strategy into practical actions while building the skills and capabilities of the field. The role emphasizes influence without authority, strong client-facing presence, and the consistent delivery of scalable best practices.
Responsibilities:
Advisor & Field Support
- Serve as a practice management consultant to field leaders, relationship managers, and independent advisors, helping apply firm strategies to day-to-day business challenges.
- Deliver structured coaching engagements focused on business planning, growth execution, client experience, and operational improvement.
- Support field leaders in diagnosing advisor needs and customizing practice management engagements.
Program Delivery & Execution
- Execute established practice management programs and frameworks that improve advisor productivity, growth, and client retention.
- Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and presentations for advisors and field teams.
- Partner with internal teams (distribution, operations, marketing, technology, and product) to deliver coordinated advisor solutions.
Operational Effectiveness
- Help advisors streamline workflows, optimize staffing models, and adopt firm technology and tools.
- Gather and synthesize field feedback to inform enhancements to practice management resources and programs.
- Ensure consistent adoption and utilization of practice management tools across the field.
Field Enablement
- Equip field leaders and relationship managers with practical coaching tools, templates, and insights to support advisor conversations.
- Reinforce best practices and ensure consistent execution of the firm’s practice management approach.
Advisor & Client Impact
- Support initiatives that enhance the advisor experience and improve end-client outcomes.
- Track engagement results and metrics related to advisor growth, efficiency, and satisfaction.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay informed on trends in practice management and advisor development.
- Contribute to the evolution of tools, content, and delivery methods through field insights and feedback.

Requirements:
- 7–10 years of experience in wealth management, practice management, advisor support, or related consulting roles
- 7+ years’ experience working directly with financial advisors or relationship managers, with a strong understanding of independent advisor business models and field engagement.
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Willingness to travel up to 10%
Core Competencies:
- Strong foundation in business planning, operational improvement, and client experience concepts
- Effective communication and presentation skills; comfortable engaging with field leadership and advisors
- Ability to execute within established strategy while providing feedback and improvement ideas
Preferences:
- Series 7 and 66 strongly preferred
- MBA, CFP®, CIMA®, or similar designations
Pay Range:
$116,493.00 - $194,155.00
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
