Job Title: Assistant Vice President, Omni Learning & Development

JOB SUMMARY:

The AVP of Omni Learning & Development oversees the development, management and execution of all national training and skill development initiatives for the field sales and retail teams. They will work in conjunction with the Leadership Team, Omni Operations, Omni Human Resources and L'Oreal People Learning and Development team, outside vendors and consultants to create a catalog of learning and development offerings to expand key skill sets such as technical and soft skills and leadership competencies. This includes oversight of learning programs for the development of SalonCentric retail and field sales employees, providing the strategic and tactical skills for sales, customer experience and engagement, leveraging of sales technologies, coaching and leadership.

The AVP of Omni Learning & Development will use a diverse platform of learning methodologies including in-person training, digital/remote learning and e-learning/ self-paced modules and continuously explores other methods of learning consistent with trends in the industry.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (Include the following, other duties may be assigned)
  • Leads the planning, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and/or learning activities in addition to delivering various methods of learning for team members including group facilitations, virtual remote classes, and on-going talent programs
  • Partners with Sales and Retail Channel Heads to design and align the annual Omni Learning & Development roadmap with core commercial objectives.
  • Facilitates various team member and leadership development training programs across the organization that are requested from departments, senior leaders, and Human Resources.
  • In partnership with Human Resources, supports the development of career plans, 360 assessments, individual development plans that include organizational values, and competencies for advancement.
  • Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with the L'Oreal USA People Learning and Development team, outside vendors and consultants to bring new and contemporary trainings in house that incorporates industry best practices, trends, processes and products and services into current learning and development strategies
  • Manages a learning and development portfolio of projects and programs; analyzes data and develops training metrics in addition to collecting relevant talent metrics for department scorecards to showcase training impact.
  • Effectively monitor, engage, and initiates action items for the learning management system to support team member e-learning/self-paced modules goals along with creating virtual courses with various software.
  • Responsible for cross functional/brand relationships - Collaborating with sales, education, category management, marketing, finance, and human resources, omni operations, as well as brand leadership to implement the strategic learning goals of sales and retail channels.
  • Lead the strategy and content creation of national, regional, and local sales meetings as well as e-learning/ self-paced module paths in partnership with channel and field leaders and Omni Operations.
  • Work closely with field teams and L&D Managers to ensure the consistent implementation of product knowledge, service/selling behaviors, and community-building strategies.
  • Responsible for leading and developing Omni Learning & Development team, and their ownership in the success and efficacy of specialty programs and their positive impact on retail stores and field sales, as well as learning content creation.
  • Own the end-to-end planning, coordination, facilitation, and execution of regional and national learning events, ensuring operational excellence, stakeholder alignment, and a high-quality learner experience.
  • Orchestrate multi-channel strategies by aligning promotional planning with SalonCentric Guru activations, collaborating closely with PPD on co-designed launch frameworks for 'big bets', and architecting a monthly education module tailored to empower and upscale all levels of the field organization
  • Meet deadlines and successfully manage multiple tasks with competing priorities in a constantly changing environment.
  • Responsible for Omni Learning & Development budget and partnering with finance on strategic planning.
  • Must possess advanced interpersonal skills - demonstrated through experience in influencing staff and leaders at all levels of the organization.


EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree required in Business or related field.

  • At least 8 years of progressive professional experience in Education, Communications and/or Training experience, Retail or Field Sales Leadership, Sales Training/Development.
  • Extensive experience within the professional beauty, luxury retail, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry is highly preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience creating and managing effective and comprehensive training/development programs for a field sales force.
  • Proven experience in coaching, mentoring, training, and developing individuals and teams.
  • Proven experience in developing training materials (booklets, videos, e-learning/ self-paced modules).
  • Strong familiarity with modern Learning Management Systems (Docebo experience highly preferred)
  • Extensive experience in and familiarity with the professional beauty industry, and strong appreciation of beauty brands.
  • Exceptional presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and other design/presentation applications.
  • Strong commercial orientation and business acumen.
  • Solid understanding of sales technology platforms (experience with Salesforce.com and Mosaic preferred) and demonstrated experience training sales teams on the use of such technology.

  • Exceptional executive presence, presentation, and communication skills, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%, including weekends as required, for business purposes including, but not limited to, regional and national meetings, store visits, and field training events. Must be able to remain stationary or sit for the majority of scheduled days.

  • Able to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment throughout the day.
  • Ability to use normal office equipment regularly (computer, printer etc).
  • Ability to lift 10 LBS.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
