  • Assess and develop pricing assumptions focused on mortality, persistency, sales mix, net amount at risk, and guarantee behavior. Application of first-principles modeling of various types of products such as ULSG, IUL, and other perm and term will be required for certain deals.
  • Evaluate and compare alternative reinsurance structures (e.g., coinsurance, modco), including collateral requirements, capital impact, and profit emergence timing, and clearly articulate trade-offs to stakeholders.
  • Identify and quantify potential risks inherent in proposed transactions and assumptions while proposing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Evaluate evolving processes and seek out areas of improvement to standardize and automate routine areas.
  • Perform product/data due diligence including data quality checks, and assessment of client-supplied projections.
  • Own and document pricing assumptions and methodologies while also defending and justifying assumptions and judgment during internal governance and review processes.
  • Execute cash-flow, capital, and return analyses across alternative reinsurance structures and summarize tradeoffs for senior reviewers.
  • Contribute to transaction structuring by quantifying risks, collateral implications, and capital effects; escalate issues and recommendations to the deal owners.
  • Draft technical sections for proposals and presentation materials; prepare approval packs and responses to governance review comments.
  • Complete close-out activities and hand-offs for accepted deals to valuation/modeling teams; support in-force monitoring and management reporting as needed.
  • Perform and receive peer reviews; ensure adherence to SCOR pricing standards, internal controls (ICS), and documentation requirements.
  • Collaborate with Client Solutions, Underwriting, Experience Analysis, and Global Teams on pricing assumptions, methodologies, and data modeling improvements.
  • Assist with the development of team members on technical topics through hands on training.
  • Drive continuous improvement by sharing thought leadership and leading/participating in project related efforts on technical topics related to pricing standards, processes, methodologies, and assumptions.
