Responsibilities

Job Title: Avionics Technician

Job Location: Mirabel, QC

Job Schedule: Day Shift

Compensation Range: Between $30,48- $50,39CDN per hour

Essential Functions:
• Perform avionics work and visual, functional or operational checks of a complex nature on the CF-18 such as installation, connections, diagnosis, modifications, repairs, rectifications and overhaul according to the procedures establishment of all wiring and components connected to an electronic device or electronic circuit for the production, testing, repair, overhaul and maintenance of CF-18s;
• Perform operational, functional and pre-flight checks according to technical specifications for all electronic and electrical equipment or on entire systems such as communication systems, navigation systems, radar, radome, detection circuitry, computers, cameras, automatic recording and controls, instrument panels and all electrical equipment, using test equipment as required to simulate flight testing;
• Participate in the preparation of aircraft mainly at the level of tasks relating to avionic systems for flight or acceptance of the aircraft by the customer;
• Check, adjust, repair or replace complex electronic devices and equipment such as:
  • the installation and connection of all wiring and components related to an electronic device;
  • build test facilities and equipment;
  • correct anomalies and perform functional and operational checks;

• Check, repair, rectify, modify, service or overhaul, modification, diagnosis and maintenance of all avionics systems, battery charging and repairs.

Accomplish other tasks assigned by his immediate superior.

Qualifications:
  • College diploma in avionics technical or military equivalent or Transport Canada equivalent;
  • CF-18 (an asset);
  • Bilingualism (an asset);
  • Has strong skills for teamwork;
  • Is dynamic and innovative and is stimulated by technical challenges;
  • Is organized, autonomous and has a developed analytical sense.


Eligibility Criteria:
  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;
  • Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
