Full Job Description
Job Summary:

The Avionics Fleet Engineer position is a supporting role within aircraftMaintenance & Engineering. The primary responsibility of the person in this position is to support and assist the Manager Fleet Standards to effectively manage and monitor the day-to-day fleet aircraft maintenance requirements, ensuring that both technical dispatch and operational efficiencies are met in accordance with Cargojet's MCM / MPM Manual & Technical documentation.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide Technical Writer / Fleet engineer with Avionics support for assessment for Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives and Task Cards development.
  • Provide Avionics evaluation and preparation of cost/benefit analysis for Service Bulletins and other technical information.
  • Provide technical input to Rotable Control & Component Workscope Engineer on part Service Bulletin & upgrade evaluation for component improvement & repairs at vendors.
  • To disseminate technical information to staff as required through implementation of fleet campaigns.
  • To provide Avionics technical support to MCC and Line / Heavy Maintenance teams..
  • To provide assistance to the Reliability Program and provide delay analysis and corrective action programs.
  • To provide technical input to Planning for heavy maintenance.
  • Provide PMAT software control & maintaining NAVDATA / EGPWS Terrain Data downloads and assist with ELT databases.
  • Provide assistance with aircraft Dent & Buckle program updates.
  • Monitor & evaluation of data for the Standby Compass Monitoring program and issuing corrective actions.
  • Maintaining the ACARS & SATCOM aircraft registry with SITA service provider.
  • To assist in aircraft modification programs, special projects, and fleet acquisitions.
  • To assist with revisions to Minimum Equipment List (MEL) manuals as required.
  • Be knowledgeable with all company and government manuals/documents pertaining to the work.
  • Communicate with Duty Managers and Maintenance senior Management.
  • Responsible for your training, remain current with all technical and regulatory training requirements to function in the assigned role
  • Ensure a clean and safe workplace for team members.
  • Ensure compliance with Safety Management System (SMS) and safety / security policies, procedures and standards.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director Fleet Standards or Manager of Fleet Standards.
