Full Job Description
BAE Systems, Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions (PGSS) Product Line, within the Precision Strike (PS) Business Area, has an immediate opening for a Senior Principal Systems Engineer that is well versed in the overall Systems Engineering process and associated phases of the program life cycle. In this position, the candidate is expected to support our Advanced Precision Kill Weapons System (APKWS) portfolio of development projects. This may also include being able to provide ongoing support to supplier activities as needed to meet delivery schedules and design review requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish requirements baseline for programs along with understanding how and why requirements decomposition and traceability
  • Specification development, organization and overall requirements development understanding -necessary, sufficient, and verifiable
  • Develop requirements in response to customer operational needs and mature operational concepts, and derive technical baselines necessary to meet the requirements
  • Assist in the flow down of requirements to testable modular hardware and software


Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering
  • Minimum of 8 years of applicable experience
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Experience working across the entire Systems Engineering Lifecycle with emphasis on the 'Left Side of the VEE Diagram'

Preferred Skills and Education

  • Experience with Semi-Active Laser Systems
  • Experience in DASAL Technology and Laser Guided Munitions
  • Familiarity with Aeronautical properties and Computational Fluid Dynamics
  • Ability to Coordinate vendors and teams in development of passive/active sensor systems for test/evaluation
  • Support trade studies, presentations, proposals and related activities
  • Experience leading technical teams
  • Ability to understand and generate CONOPS
