Position Description & Qualifications

If you love high profile and challenging projects supporting the United States Navy - Serco has a great opportunity for you! This Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Senior Test Engineer Position will be on a dynamic team responsible for testing US Navy aviation warfare programs at our customer site in the Norfolk, Virginia area. Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact on our national security.

In this role, you will:
  • Perform as the Test and Evaluation Engineer that supports OPTEVFOR in the review of acquisition documents, development of complex test plans, execution of operational tests, reduction and analysis of data, and writing of test reports.
  • Support Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) events to provide OPTEVFOR with an evaluation of the mission capability of the system or platform when employed in a realistic, operational environment.
  • Support OPTEVFOR in providing a T&E Strategy brief for all major acquisition programs under Department of War oversight.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive OT&E programs for USN, USMC, and Joint systems.
  • Conduct Integrated Evaluation Framework and Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) development, test planning, test execution, data analysis, and test reporting.
  • Support cross-functional teams through complex operational testing cycles.
  • Interface with Navy/USMC leadership and program stakeholders on test plans and results.
  • Conduct accreditation process for modeling and simulation efforts supporting developmental/operational testing.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD 5000 series and Navy acquisition instructions.
  • Develop and provide Department of War with a T&E Concept Briefing on planned OT&E activity.
  • Work directly with senior technical personnel, stakeholders, and project managers in the planning and execution of test events.
  • Employ existing guidelines and instructions, customer guidance, experience, and independent judgment to plan and accomplish test objectives.


To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Secret security clearance
  • Current Navy, Marine Corps, Army, or Air Force operations knowledge
  • Bachelor's degree (STEM preferred) or equivalent operational/T&E experience
  • At least 5 years Aviation Warfare mission execution (JSF or F/A-18 preferred)
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive projects to successful completion
  • Effective communication skills to convey analysis results and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Proficiency in technical writing and reporting
  • Strong knowledge of analysis methodologies applied to complex systems evaluation
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
