Your Opportunity

Stantec is looking for an experienced Airport Project Manager to join our expanding Aviation team and provide ongoing airfield infrastructure services across Western Canada. The preferred candidate must have an ability to effectively communicate with and lead a variety of technical and managerial professionals experienced in the engineering and planning projects at both commercial service and general aviation airports. You have the capability to act as engineer of record and project manager on various airport projects. We seek dynamic individuals who want to make their community a better place. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills and strong initiative are a must. The ideal candidate will have experience working on variety of airport projects of varying scale and the ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines. Some travel may be required for the role.

Our Airports Team is taking airport design to the next level. From airside roadways, airfield drainage, runway, taxiway, and apron design , we'll take your career to new heights.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Forecast and organize project design development and production delivery
  • Ability to successfully lead/organize a team of multiple disciplines and consultants
  • Address project issues following protocol and procedure in order to reach the best solution
  • Manage budget, code and jurisdictional requirements
  • Onsite assistance in construction observation
  • Establish and maintain client/owner contractor relationships
  • Network to build relationships with new clients and return clients
  • Public speaking and networking
  • Collaborate closely with Regional Practice Leaders in other Business Lines
  • Mentor junior staff in project management skills and capabilities
  • Attend on-site project meeting with clients, as needed
  • Ability to travel to remote locations may be required as part of this role
  • Provides support with regards to Business Development tasks related to proposal development and assisting in preparing proposal documentation that will win work for the Airports team


Qualifications
