Role Details:
Job Summary:The Aviation Pilot is responsible for flying flight missions as requested by McCoy's executives and other company personnel as needed by complying with all applicable FAA regulations and company policies and procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities:Duties/Responsibilities:- Pilots airplane to transport personnel and executive family as necessary.
- Maintains written and computerized flight logs and aircraft and pilot records to comply with FAA regulations and other federal guidelines.
- Reads periodic publications and airworthiness directives from the FAA and makes necessary adjustments to aircraft operations based on information and directives.
- Tracks aircraft flight hours and schedules preventive maintenance in accordance with use.
- Ensures instruments are certified according to FAA regulations.
- Recognizes need and plans for performance or unexpected and unscheduled maintenance or repair.
- Performs occasional maintenance test flights as necessary or when assigned by the Chief Pilot.
- Conducts preflight procedures for scheduled flights to include, but not limited to, weight and balance, fuel load, weight, filing flight plans with the FAA, and instrument testing when required.
- Prepares flight plans considering such factors as altitude, terrain, weather, aircraft and crew capabilities, operational and training requirements and flight procedures.
- Responsible for weekly processing bills associated with the upkeep of airplanes and the department.
- Performs service to ensure aircraft cabin is prepared for flight operations before and after each flight (refreshments/beverages/cleanliness).
- Performs service to ensure aircraft exterior is prepared for flight operations before and after each flight as assigned by the Chief Pilot.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Chief Pilot including, but not limited to, period service to hanger facility, equipment, and other areas.
- Share in the overall support of the aviation department as a team member by performing duties and functions as assigned by the Chief Pilot.
- Attends team meetings and company training sessions as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities: - Must be ATP certified.
- Ability to navigate and operate aircraft in various weather conditions.
- Adheres to Class II Medical FAA standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must complete all company training and certification requirements.
- Must have a current driver's license and auto liability insurance.
- Travel with overnight stays.
Education and Experience:- Bachelor's degree and four to ten years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of 3,500 total flight hours and a total turbine time of 1,000 hours.
- A minimum of 500 current hours for type-rated Citation 525 (CJ3 and CJ3+) is preferred.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle quickly and repeatedly to exact positions.
- Ability to judge which of several objects is closer or farther away from you, or to judge the distance between you and an object.
- The ability to choose quickly between two or more movements in response to two or more different signals (lights, sounds, pictures). It includes the speed with which the correct response is started with the hand, foot, or other body part.
- Must be able to use the three-point hold when getting into trucks and/or forklifts.
- May need to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to work in various types of weather.
- Prolonged periods of sitting.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
