Full Job Description
About this Role

The AV Engineer serves as the organization’s primary technical resource for the design, deployment, operation, and maintenance of advanced audiovisual and unified communications systems across corporate and executive environments. This role requires deep expertise in enterprise AV infrastructure — including Crestron control system programming, Dante networked audio, DSP platform configuration, and Microsoft Teams Rooms — with supplemental experience in residential AV systems. The ideal candidate brings a proactive mindset, advanced cross-platform troubleshooting capabilities, and the professionalism required to operate effectively in executive and client-facing settings.

What You'll Do

Corporate AV Operations

  • Performs daily operational checks of all Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR), conference rooms, and training center spaces; diagnoses and resolves technical issues before business-hours use to ensure zero-disruption room readiness.
  • Monitors and maintains the health of all executive conference rooms, Board Room, and MTR systems via the Teams Admin Center and manufacturer portals; escalates unresolved incidents to vendors or engineering resources with full documentation.
  • Provides full-cycle AV production support for Town Halls, all-hands meetings, and executive presentations, including microphone setup, display configuration, live troubleshooting, and real-time speaker assistance.
  • Manages AV operations across common areas including the Amenities desk, cafeteria, and green space; resolves music playback, television channel, and microphone issues, and conducts pre-event testing.
  • Administers BrightSign digital signage systems across elevator lobbies and common areas; maintains content schedules and resolves hardware or connectivity issues promptly.
  • Manages meeting room calendar holds and AV standby coverage for conference rooms requiring AV setup; responds rapidly to in-room service requests and escalates issues as needed.
  • Conducts quarterly firmware and driver updates across all MTR rooms, Poly Trio huddle devices, and AV control systems to maintain security compliance and platform stability.
  • Evaluates AV vendor quotes and conducts price comparisons for offsite corporate events held at hotels, conference centers, and executive venues.
  • Leads and supports the buildout of Microsoft Teams Rooms for other Operating Companies within the organization, including system configuration, commissioning, and end-user training.
  • Programs, deploys, and maintains Crestron control systems including control processors (CP4, MC4, DMPS), touchpanel UI design (XPanel, TSW series), SIMPL Windows, SIMPL+, and Crestron Studio; develops and maintains custom drivers, modules, and control logic for conference room, executive, and event AV environments.
  • Designs and manages Dante networked audio infrastructures including channel routing, gain staging, latency configuration, and redundant network topology; administers Dante Controller and Dante Domain Manager across multi-device environments; configures AES67 bridging for interoperability with non-Dante endpoints and DSP platforms.
  • Configures and tunes DSP platforms (Biamp Tesira, QSC Q-SYS) for corporate environments including signal flow design, matrix routing, auto-mixing, acoustic echo cancellation (AEC), noise suppression, and integration with conferencing codecs and Dante endpoints; documents all DSP configurations and maintains version-controlled backup files.

Residential AV Support (Secondary)

  • Installs, configures, and supports residential AV systems including whole-home audio/video distribution, multi-room control platforms (Control4, Crestron Home), and Lutron lighting control (Homeworks QS, RadioRA3); applies the same rack-building and signal-flow documentation standards used in corporate deployments.
  • Provides post-installation support and client handover for residential projects; trains end users on system operation and delivers documentation packages covering all installed systems and configurations.
  • Supports residential IP surveillance and monitoring system integration within the Snap One / OvrC ecosystem as needed.

System Integration & Project Support

  • Collaborates with IT, facilities, and external AV integrators on the design, specification, and implementation of new conference rooms, executive spaces, and AV infrastructure upgrades.
  • Reviews AV system drawings, schematics, and rack diagrams; provides technical input and ensures installations conform to organizational standards and manufacturer best practices.
  • Maintains accurate asset records for all AV hardware including serial numbers, firmware versions, warranty status, and service history in the organization's ITSM platform.
  • Authors and maintains technical documentation, system configuration guides, and end-user knowledge base articles for all supported AV environments.

Video Surveillance (Genetec Omnicast)

  • Administers and maintains Genetec Security Center with a primary focus on the Omnicast VMS platform; manages Directory and Archiver server roles, recording schedules, storage allocation, and license compliance across single-server and multi-site enterprise deployments.
  • Manages the full IP camera lifecycle within Omnicast, including camera discovery and onboarding, encoding and stream profile configuration, retention policy management, video analytics setup (KiwiVision intrusion and object detection), and federated multi-site architecture; performs routine health checks, validates recording integrity, and conducts storage capacity planning.
  • Maintains Omnicast system security and operational hygiene including firmware updates, hotfix deployments, Genetec Update Service (GUS) configuration, and version-controlled backup of all system settings; coordinates with Genetec support and certified integrators for advanced diagnostics and platform upgrades.
  • Operates Genetec Security Desk for live camera monitoring and video-based incident response; conducts video retrieval, clip export, and timeline-based investigations to support security and operational inquiries; generates activity reports and maintains audit trails for recorded footage.
  • Maintains comprehensive documentation for all Omnicast deployments including camera inventories, IP addressing, encoding profiles, retention schedules, and network topology diagrams; supports the onboarding of new camera hardware and IP video infrastructure as facilities expand or are refreshed.
