Introduction

The Jim Pattison Auto Group has an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Toyota Automotive Service Technician (TCI Level One or higher) to join our Toyota Northshore dealership. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting our Service Department by accurately diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to the highest standards of safety, performance, and reliability.

As a Toyota Technician, you take pride in delivering quality workmanship and contributing to an exceptional customer experience that reflects our strong commitment to customer satisfaction.

Schedule: This is a full-time, permanent role of 40 hours per week. Including Saturday rotations.

Pay Range: $41.15 to $45.25 hourly flat rate depending on certification and level of experience.

This role reports to the Service Manager of the dealership.

A Day in the Life
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles in accordance with manufacturer and dealership standards
  • Perform thorough vehicle inspections with accurate documentation and measurements
  • Identify mechanical and electrical issues, recommend solutions, and communicate findings clearly to Service team
  • Partner with Service Advisors to provide updates on repair timelines or recommend additional safety work
  • Conduct road tests and pre-delivery inspections on new inventory to ensure every vehicle leaving the shop is in top condition
  • Coordinate with the Parts Department to source what you need and manage warranty labeling
  • Assist fellow technicians when needed to maintain overall shop productivity
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Ensure a high degree of confidentiality with company and customer information
  • Participate in maintaining a supportive and engaging working environment

What We're Looking For
  • Toyota, Protech, or Master Technician Certification is required
  • Automotive Service Technician Red Seal Certification or currently in the process of challenging it
  • Previous experience as an automotive technician is required
  • A valid BC Driver's license is required, including a satisfactory Driver's Abstract is required
  • Able to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable
  • Ability to work the physical requirements of a service technician role
    • Ability to regularly lift up to 60 pounds
    • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
    • High level of mobility, dexterity, endurance, and sensory awareness
  • Ability to work in an automotive shop environment
    • Indoor automotive shop with multiple service bays
    • Exposure to noise (engines, air tools), fumes (exhaust, solvents), and dust
    • Work performed around moving vehicles, hoists, and heavy equipment
    • Temperature can vary (shops may be cooler in winter, warmer in summer despite heating/ventilation)
