Full Job Description
This position reports to:
Segment Manager for Oil & Gas - Americas

In this role, you'll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid with a preferred home location in the state of Texas (LA/OK will be considered, as well) and 25-50% travel required. #LI-Hybrid

Your role and responsibilities:
  • Earn a "Trusted Advisor" role with End Users by consultatively providing ABB solutions to our customers that solve problems, reduce cost, and enable operational efficiency. Applications will involve Liquid and/or Gas Measurement, Plunger Lift, Gas Lift, Wellhead Alarms & Shutdowns, PID, Valve Control, Custom Panel Design and Communications.
  • Consult with End Users to define project scope of work, listen and understand the end user's goal and vision, consultatively provide ABB solutions that exceed the customer's expectations. This will work will include custom training, standardization consulting, ABB configuration and initial solution project start-up consultation.
  • Resolve issues in the field thus leading to a better customer experience through training, troubleshooting and application best practices.
  • Responsible for achieving key targets (e.g. volume, price, and mix) for instrumentation sales; Implement and review automation strategies with region-specific action plans. Grow ABB product sales and presence for O&G. Demand creation for engineered to order custom panels solutions.
  • Communicates the end user value proposition for Automation (internally and externally). Supports the local sales organization to have an effective perception in Automation. Creates and implements the communication, promotion, and training activities in the segment.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with the key Automation customers in Texas. Follows up ABB's performance in fulfilling their needs and communicates deficiencies and/or opportunities to the respective Business Units/Product Groups.

Qualifications for the role:
  • Bachelor's Degree with 5+ Years of Experience or Associate's Degree/High School Diploma ( or equivalent ) and 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Ability to develop and implement structured sales processes and strategies that improve efficiency and lead to winning; Intense competitor knowledge; Passion for selling and winning with the resilience to overcome rejection.
  • Good time / activity and priority management skills; Obsessive focus on end users, their wants and needs, their goals and objectives, how they buy, how they maintain their equipment, how they partner with suppliers.
  • Ability to develop relationships at all levels in ABB, our channel partners, and our end users (from field personnel to corner office).
  • Solid understanding of instrumentation, level technology and markets.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time depending on home location and customer targets and project / EPC offices for main targeted areas.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work permanently for ABB in the US.
