Job Overview:

Responsible for maintaining the automation & controls systems through defining the system standards post-implementation and handover. The role will lead the Maintenance Automation team through the success of projects within the Maintenance Department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide input to and contributes to the execution of the Company's long-term plan (LTP) within the Maintenance department
  • Develop and implement the corporate automation strategy aligned with business objectives
  • Define and enforce automation standards across all sites (PLCs, SCADA, HMI, networks)
  • Ensure consistency, scalability, and best practices across facilities
  • Lead initiatives related to Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, and digitalization
  • Actively live and role model our Leadership competencies by holding self and team (including all direct and indirect reports) accountable for creating a positive work environment and culture through administration of our People Processes and Tools.
  • Performance Management: Ensure proper onboarding and development of all staff by completing induction process, coaching and developing capabilities, executing PDP start/mid-year dialogues, and engaging in corrective action when required
  • Talent & Succession: Ensure job vacancies are filled by completing the required processes and representing the company with integrity throughout the recruitment process
  • Training: Ensure completion of function compliance training
  • Engagement: Ensure an engaged workforce through development of sound working relationships and execution of Employee Survey action plans

  • Lead the technical support to the Information Technology team pre- and during equipment installation which includes troubleshooting communication issues between field devices, communication networks, PLC and SCADA systems
  • Troubleshoot process line issues when necessary, delegating tasks to the team when necessary
  • Support with the equipment/machine commissioning and start-up activities
  • Coordinate and support with security and maintenance for manufacturing systems data, manufacturing systems administration and systems change control processes and documentation
  • Lead continuous improvement, innovation and cost optimization efforts on behalf of the maintenance department with a focus on equipment automation
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, uptime, and productivity through automation
  • Promote advanced analytics, data integration, and predictive maintenance solutions.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies (AI, IIoT, robotics, Co-Bots, AGV's, etc.)
  • Develop and manage the corporate automation budget.
  • Optimize capital investments and operational costs related to automation systems
  • Support ROI analysis and business case development for automation initiatives
  • Lead in the development, definition, implementation and maintenance of standards for the process & control systems across all Give & Go manufacturing facilities.


  • Ensure all equipment and work performed by or on behalf of the company complies with all governing laws, practices, codes, and regulations


Recipe for Success:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in industrial automation or control systems
  • 5+ years in a leadership role, preferably in a multi-site or corporate function
  • Proven experience implementing automation strategies across multiple facilities
  • Strong project management and transformation experience
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, ladder logic and control diagrams.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical and automation issues.
  • Familiarity with robotics (Fanuc, ABB, Kuka, Yaskawa).
  • Experience with CMMS and SAP systems for work order management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Basic understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Prior working experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Possesses and commits to a high level of personal and ethical responsibility
  • Diverse set of experience and capabilities to help Sr. Project Engineers and Engineering Managers to improve and grow.
  • Must be able to handle fast paced environment with competing priorities and demands.
  • Must have strong computer (MS Office) and project management skills
