Automation & Equipment Technician

Department: Automation & Equipment

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: California - Sacramento

Reporting To: Director of Engineering

Compensation: $70,000 - $95,000 / year

Description

Ability to excel in a fast-growing/fast paced environment delivering accuracy while managing to deadlines where adaptability is imperative.

Summary

The Automation and EquipmentTechnician will work closely with the Director of Engineering in the research and development of new processing and packaging technologies to ensure business needs are consistently met. This role will be responsible for establishing and meeting timelines, adhering to budgets, maintaining effective vendor relations, and managing the complexities of equipment acquisitions and implementations.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Execute and follow established equipment acquisition implementation program
  • Analyzes the demand for equipment supplies and forecast future needs
  • Work directly to support management and facilities maintenance departments on necessary building
  • modifications to accommodate equipment
  • Reports on and updates project management systems
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with equipment vendor specifications and contract terms including
  • after-sale support and follow-up
  • Understand the operation of all company equipment and maintain it to operate at the highest efficiency possible
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and
  • policies
  • Maintain timely completion of preventative maintenance, assigned Work Orders, and continuous
  • improvement tasks.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Automation and Equipment


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance of industrial equipment (food manufacturing related experience highly preferred)
  • Understand control wiring including PLC logic to be able to keep the equipment running in an efficient safe manner
  • Knowledge and experience of hand tools, power tools, electrical and electronic test equipment to complete daily tasks
  • Experience with packaging and cooking automation flow is very highly desirable
  • Strong attention to detail is critical as well as the ability to maintain high standards of accuracy
  • Language Skills: Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively across departments and levels of management; including ability to respond to question/suggestions from various levels within the company
  • Ability to parse broad concepts and turn them into tangible outputs
  • Possess mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • State regulations require all applicants must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must obtain all state-required: permits, licenses, and certifications
  • Will be required to submit to a background check
  • Travel between sites will be required
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft office, G suite and data analysis
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Food Handlers Card/ServSafe certification (preferred)
