Full Job Description
Automation Engineer

Clearwater, FL (relocating to Largo in late 2026) | Lithionics Battery (a Winnebago Industries Company)

What You'll Do

Drive Automation Excellence
  • Serve as the technical lead for automated systems, including our Laser Welding Line, ensuring safe, stable, and repeatable production
  • Troubleshoot automation, controls, and equipment issues to minimize downtime and maintain throughput
  • Optimize processes to improve cycle time, yield, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
  • Support new product introductions (NPI), including equipment setup, validation, and readiness

Strengthen Equipment Reliability
  • Support maintenance and reliability programs across automated and semi-automated manufacturing systems
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and controls issues
  • Partner with Maintenance and Operations to drive equipment upgrades and improvements
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring failures

Support Cutting-Edge Battery Systems
  • Provide technical expertise for the Balancing Work Center and charger systems
  • Assist in designing, building, and commissioning battery chargers and related equipment
  • Maintain and troubleshoot balancing and charging systems to ensure safe operation
  • Develop and maintain documentation, wiring diagrams, and technical standards

Advance Controls & Technology
  • Support PLCs, HMIs, motion systems, vision systems, and industrial networks
  • Assist with programming updates, integration, and continuous system improvements
  • Maintain electrical schematics, controls documentation, and software backups

Lead Continuous Improvement
  • Contribute to initiatives focused on safety, quality, cost, and delivery
  • Support capital projects from equipment selection through commissioning (FAT/SAT)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field)
  • 3+ years of experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment
  • Strong hands-on expertise with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and industrial networks [Automation...gineer New | Word]
