Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Architect Lead to lead the design, development, and evolution of scalable automation frameworks while driving AI-enabled quality engineering practices. This role combines hands-on automation development with technical leadership, ensuring high-quality software delivery through modern testing strategies, robust automation solutions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in Automation Testing, Test Engineering, Quality Engineering, SDET, Automation Architect, or a similar technical QA role.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with Playwright, including framework design, optimization, governance, and test orchestration.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, automation architecture, CI/CD integration, and quality engineering best practices.
  • Experience utilizing AI-assisted testing tools and techniques to improve test design, defect analysis, test data generation, traceability, and automation efficiency.
  • Strong programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, C#, or similar languages.
  • Experience with API testing, database validation, SQL, and integrated enterprise applications.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to remain hands-on while leading automation strategy and quality initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

Automation Architecture & Framework Development
  • Design, architect, and enhance Playwright-based automation frameworks supporting functional, regression, integration, API, and data-driven testing.
  • Develop scalable, modular, and reusable automation solutions aligned with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Establish automation standards, governance, maintainability, performance, and scalability best practices.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies that improve automation maturity and delivery efficiency.


AI-Enabled Quality Engineering
  • Apply AI tools and techniques to improve test authoring, defect analysis, test data generation, traceability, and automation effectiveness.
  • Leverage AI-assisted workflows to accelerate test case design, identify coverage gaps, and optimize regression testing.
  • Analyze requirements and acceptance criteria using AI-driven approaches to identify risks, ambiguities, and dependencies early in the SDLC.
  • Evaluate capabilities such as self-healing automation, intelligent regression selection, anomaly detection, and defect triage.
  • Ensure AI-generated outputs are validated, traceable, and aligned with governance and quality standards.


Hands-On Testing & Automation
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts based on user stories, business requirements, and technical specifications.
  • Perform manual, exploratory, automated, API, integration, and data-driven testing as needed.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing initiatives.


Quality Assurance & Defect Management
  • Identify, analyze, document, and validate software defects through automated and manual testing.
  • Drive continuous improvement of test coverage through automation planning and test suite optimization.
  • Support root-cause analysis and recommend preventative quality improvements.
  • Utilize AI-assisted techniques to improve defect analysis and quality insights.


Collaboration & Leadership
  • Partner with developers, product owners, architects, analysts, and project managers to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and provide guidance on testability, automation opportunities, and quality risks.
  • Mentor team members on automation frameworks, tooling, AI-assisted testing, and quality engineering best practices.
  • Promote shift-left testing and continuous quality improvement.


Data & Backend Validation
  • Use SQL to validate backend workflows, data integrity, and business processes.
  • Create, manage, and maintain test data required for comprehensive testing scenarios.
  • Validate APIs, integrations, and end-to-end business workflows.


Preferred Candidate Profile
  • Strong expertise in Playwright and modern test automation practices.
  • Experience with AI-assisted testing tools, copilots, and AI-enabled quality engineering solutions.
  • Demonstrated success leading automation architecture and enterprise-quality initiatives.
  • Ability to communicate technical strategies and architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
