Experience and abilities you will need:- Associate's degree or higher
- 4+ years' experience with programming, troubleshooting and debugging of industrial components and equipment.
- Demonstrated ability in diagnosing and modifying electrical, electronic and automation failures.
- Demonstrated ability with plant control systems such as ECS, citectScada, PlantPX, RsView32, RSLogix 5000, FactoryTalk and able to move data from PLCs to control systems.
- Experience with machine control systems, i.e., PLC programing, , HMI Programming, Rockwell Software, FLSmidth, Allen Bradley, ABB, Rosemount, etc.
- Knowledge in programming in multiple languages such as Ladder Logic, Function Blocks, and Structured Text.
- Experience with communications / networking with 4- 20mA signal, Modbus, Ethernet, devicenet and controlnet. Experience with both local device and radio communications.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office. Intermediate Excel user at a minimum.
- Technical: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts (such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, permutation, probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry).
What you will do:Supports the Maintenance Manager to maintain the engineering systems for the automation of the mine and ensure continuous operation. Supports operations teams during normal mine operations and troubleshooting processes. Analysis of electronic and automation equipment using Continuous Improvement (CI) and High Performance (HP) methodology to detect potential areas of improvement, select the adequate instruments equipment and controls for the application and implementation of solutions. Responsible for identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability and to implement those changes through failure analysis, data collection and identification of changes to maintenance, operations, purchasing and design practices.
- Develops, designs, programs, plans, installs & maintains process control projects & improvements, including all new Control Systems, HMIs, Instrumentation, and PLCs.
- Inspects, tests, adjusts, repairs and updates mine process control system to ensure continuous operations and compliance (MSHA guidelines, National Electrical Codes, etc.).
- Perform advanced troubleshooting of instrumentation and automated systems, detect abnormalities and perform repairs.
- Prepares and maintains all schematics and control drawings, sketches, and reports to reflect changes or alterations made in instruments, circuits, and systems.
- Programs, troubleshoots and maintains existing plant process control system including PLC programs, HMI Programs and ECS system for the plant.

- Support Automated Lab system, including human-machine interface and PLC's (hardware and software).
- Advises and consults with Maintenance Manger on abnormal operations, production, quality control, schedules and maintenance problems.
- Trains employees, programs, and troubleshoots all safety systems including CO monitor system, mineshaft ventilation system, vibration kills, temperature sensors, and methane sensors.
- Act as local IT person. Assist local employees with IT related issues including computer issues, internet issues, network access, printers, time clocks, etc.
- Sets up, train operators, maintains, and troubleshoots all iPads.
- Support the Business Units with the plant process control system, reviewing equipment, start/ stop sequences and equipment interlocking, alarm and shutdown set points, etc.
- Programs and calibrates all Ash and Moisture Analyzers.
- Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager is responsible for the failure analysis process and preventative maintenance within the mine.
- Assists Maintenance Manager with month-end closings.
- Open and close requisitions and work orders in SAP & Coupa as required.
- Maintains up to date permissibility books.
- Comply with state and federal health and safety regulations, company policies and procedures and the company's environmental compliance policy. Company policies may include lockout/tag out policy, confined space permit policy, hot work policy, emergency response plan, arc flash/shock and burn protection, proper containment and disposal process.
