Accountabilities
Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership.
Test-drive vehicles, test components and systems, use diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
Diagnose and repair vehicle systems; engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, AC conditioning, etc.
Communicate directly with Service Advisors to ensure customers are fully informed of all service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
Knowledge & Skills
3+ years of Transmission Technician Experience
Must be Ford/Lincoln Certified
B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair
Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies
Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve
Enjoy working in a dynamic environment
Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively
Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
Knowledge of safety procedures and practices necessary while operating or repairing vehicles and equipment
Experience & Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
ASE certifications a must
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Ability to stand, sit, walk, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, push, and pull
Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds and assist in lifting up to one hundred (100) pounds
