Cherry Bekaert's CyberSecurity team is growing!

Our CyberSecurity team serves our Audit, Tax and Advisory practice areas across the firm to provide IT Audit, consulting, and compliance services in the areas of:

  • Cybersecurity Risk and Gap Assessments
  • Cybersecurity Technical Assessments
  • CMMC, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST 800-115, NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53 (FISMA, FedRAMP, etc.)
  • ISO 27001/27002, PCI, HIPPA/HITRUST, FFIEC
  • AICPA Cybersecurity Risk Management Framework
  • AICPA SOC 1/2/3


As a Cyber Staff you will:

You will support the performance of technology, cybersecurity, privacy and general control audit/ advisory engagements, in addition to technical cybersecurity assessments. Under supervision of the Cybersecurity/Risk Accounting & Advisory Services (RAAS) Manager and Partner, you will help identify cybersecurity control weaknesses, design gaps, vulnerabilities, audit exceptions and inefficiencies with appropriate recommendations to management.

  • Support strong work papers conforming to the firm's methodology/standards and participation in report drafting
  • Identify and communicate results to leadership
  • Maintain a strong client focus by understanding the client's business needs while developing productive working relationships with client personnel in order to accomplish audit objectives
  • Demonstrate strong project management skills, ability to multi-task and attention to detail


Conducting cyber services in the areas such as:

  • Cybersecurity Readiness Assessments
  • Vulnerability Assessments
  • Attack & Penetration Studies
  • Incident Response
  • Cybersecurity Governance Risk & Compliance Examinations


What you bring to the role:

  • Masters or Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Information Security, Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting or Mathematics
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above preferred, but not required
  • Interest in technology risk management and IT governance principles
  • Willing to pursue relevant professional designations (ex. CPA, CISA, CISSP, etc.)
  • Ability to travel to client sites as needed, included frequent same-day travel and occasional out-of-town travel
