Full Job Description
The role of the Audit Manager is to oversee the audit process from planning to completion for clients as part of the company's annual audit plan. Tasks will include supervising the audit process, researching, reviewing current processes and providing recommendations to enhance company policies and procedures. The Audit Manager is responsible for training, supporting, supervising, motivating, and reviewing the work of audit staff and senior members. Responsibilities: • Possess thorough knowledge of all facets of client's business to ensure client understanding of engagement economics and to provide frequent updates • Actively communicate the progress of engagements, problems, and resolutions to clients • Continuously improve specialty area knowledge and educate team on new audit practices and processes • Manage billable hour budgets and follow up when the team is over/under to determine the cause • Lead multiple auditing and accounting projects and client engagements simultaneously • Delegate and manage audit and accounting assignments to achieve accurate and efficient product • Research and identify complex audit issues and recommend creative solutions with the input of key stakeholders • Build challenging developmental plans for all team members and evaluate results • Manage billable hour budgets and follow up when the team is over/under to determine the cause • Assume responsibility for and provide direction and coaching to the audit team • Generate new business for the firm through community involvement, networking, and professional events/committees • Develop and sustain excellent client relationships, owning the relationship end-to-end • Celebrate individual and team accomplishments and be part of recruiting new and experienced staff • Provide effective performance feedback and on-the-job training • Contribute to performance management to help assess readiness for promotion of staff and senior levels Requirements: • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance • 5+ years of recent audit experience at a public accounting firm • CPA Certification • Successful experience in developing new or extended service opportunities with existing and/or prospective clients • Strong oral and written interpersonal skills • Effective analytical and problem-solving ability • Experience in hiring, developing, and leading a team of professional auditors • Experience in SOX compliance audits for financial institutions We believe that when our employees are able to thrive in all facets of life, their work and impact are that much greater.
