Job DescriptionThis position is open to Alaska Residents only. Please check our residency definition to determine if you qualify.What You Will Be Doing- Perform state retirement system compliance audits of participating employers.
- Budgeting, tracking and reporting on audits.
- Educate employers regarding Alaska Statutes, Alaska Regulations and other requirements.
- Provides quarterly and ad hoc reports to the Alaska Retirement Management Board (ARMB) Audit committee.
- Oversees SSA-1945 acceptance and recording process.
- Requires occasional travel to perform on-site compliance audits.
The Working Environment You Can Expect This position is based on the sixth floor of the State Office Building in downtown Juneau. After successfully completing the training and probationary period, employees on this audit team may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule that supports flexibility and productivity.

- Compliance: Knowledge of procedures for assessing, evaluating, and monitoring programs or projects for compliance with State and federal laws, regulations, and guidance.
- Audit Reporting: Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques used to report audit findings (criteria, condition, cause, effect, and recommendation).
Equivalent to those typically gained by:
Certification as a Certified Public Accountant;
And/or
Post-secondary education in accounting, public administration, business administration or a closely related field that includes or is supplemented by 16 semester hours/24 quarter hours in accounting and 3 semester hours/4 quarter hours in auditing;
And/or
Professional experience performing independent audits of organizations to assure fiscal compliance with contractual or grant terms or performing less complex management analyses and/or operational audits.
