As an audiologist, you will evaluate patients' hearing and balance needs, create personalized care plans, and conduct thorough assessments. You will work closely with patients and families to make informed decisions about treatment while considering individual physical, cultural, and age-related factors. You will document all findings, share results with doctors and care teams, and educate everyone involved in the patient's care. You will supervise support staff, adapt to changing schedules and assignments, and collaborate with physicians, families, and other healthcare providers to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.

Will work primarily with children and assist with the ENT clinic.

Location: 1432 S Dobson Rd Suite 215 Mesa AZ 85202

Hours: Typically M-F 8a to 430pm. Days can occasionally vary. Four 8 hour days.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the administration and supervision of Audiology services in accordance with physician referral, state and national organizational standards, regulatory agencies, and established departmental policies and procedures. This position demonstrates the clinical competence and knowledge necessary to provide assessment appropriate to the age of the patients served

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Evaluates patient. Determines if further intervention is needed. Establishes a Plan of Care when appropriate. Completes comprehensive evaluation within the established time frame set by the department. Identifies and prioritizes key limiting factors. Collaborates with patient and family/caregiver when making recommendations. Recommends additions to or modifications of referring orders

2. Implements individualized evaluations with consideration to the patient's physical, social, spiritual, cultural, educational and age specific needs. Provides skilled assessments in a safe manner. Involves patient and family/caregiver in the decision making process. Provides ongoing education to physician, nurse, patient, family/caregiver, and interdisciplinary team.

3. Documents according to standards set by the department and regulatory agencies. Documents legibly. Documentation reflects a comprehensive assessment. Completes documentation within the established time frames of the department. Completes all required documentation.

4. Communicates pertinent information to ensure the best possible follow through of care. Communicates evaluation/test results to physicians, nurses, family/caregiver and interdisciplinary team. Communicates in a clear and timely manner. Accepts responsibility to contact physicians for routine or difficult problem solving o ensure optimal patient outcome. Provides rationale for recommendations based on standard practices and/or current literature.

5. Exhibits adaptability in assignments as it relates to caseload, scheduling, staffing shifts. Takes initiative to assist in other patient care areas and accepts responsibility for all patient care needs.

6. Demonstrates appropriate supervision and delegation of personnel to achieve safe delivery of quality cost effective patient care. Supervision and delegation of students and support staff complies with departmental policies and regulatory agencies. Participates in the training and orientation of new personnel. Assures competency of personnel, prior to delegation of task.

7. Department operational activities. Participates in department/facility process improvement. Meets productivity standards set by the department.

8. This position has responsibility for interacting with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies concerning the health of the patient. Also interacts with physician offices in order to report, request or clarify information

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires a Doctorate level degree (Au.D. or Ph.D.) from an accredited university with an Audiology program further accredited by a body or organization approved by the Department of Education. A Master's degree attained prior to 2004 may be considered.

Additionally, candidates must possess a current Dispensing Audiologist license from the State of practice or obtain a Dispensing Audiologist license within one year of hire pending State License test availability

The candidate relates throughout the interview process their clinical competency, experience, training, and education they have received that is required to perform the job.

Must have the ability to become proficient with computer software applications commonly used in an automated patient care environment. Patient care equipment and evaluation tools. Copier, multi-line/multi-feature telephone, fax machine, computer, pager, and miscellaneous office equipment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
