About The Role:
  • We are looking for an experienced contract project manager to help us advance research and development on spatial audio capture as part of a team of project managers that support research scientists, software engineers, and PhD student interns.
  • An ideal candidate would have work experience inresearchproject management, and familiarity with some or all of the following areas: Spatialaudio, binaural audio, and audio signal processing.
  • There will be around 20 contributors working towards Audio research and development with dozens of external team connections and this position is one of four in the program team and is responsible for program team meetings and activities.

Job Title: Audio Research Project Manager IV

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and drive projects to advance research and development according to a delivery plan.
  • Monitor progress, identify problems, facilitate resolution, and implement changes as necessary to keep projects on track towards completion.
  • Regularly report on project progress, dependencies and risks to the team and stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper documentation of progress and completion of tasks and projects.
  • Manage procurement projects for equipment and vendor services.
  • Willingness to "roll up your sleeves" and take on operational tasks in support of the team's goals.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Computer Science, (Audio) Engineering, Acoustics, Physics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of work experience inresearchproject management with a track record of successful project completion.
  • Sprint-based project management experience with sprint planning, tracking, and reporting on regular cadence
  • Strong documentation skills, including maintaining task boards, summarizing sprint progress, and reporting gaps/risks
  • Event coordination, visual design, demo support
  • Audio production (event, mixing, performance) or technology (Spatial audio, binaural audio, and audio signal processing) experience
  • Experience with spatial/binaural audio, audio signal processing, and relevant programming languages.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Computer Science, (Audio) Engineering, Acoustics, Physics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in research project management with a track record of successful project completion
  • Prior FAANG or Big Tech a plus

Location: Redmond, WA [Onsite]

Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $135,000 - $187,200 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
