We're searching for a high-impact Attorney who wants more than routine casework-someone who wants to shape markets, influence public policy, protect system reliability, and guide the future of energy. At SPP, you'll sit at the center of where law, government, engineering, markets, and public service intersect.

As you gain experience, you'll operate at a strategic level-guiding regulatory direction, advising executives, and leading matters that ripple across the energy industry.
What You'll Do- Draft and support regulatory filings, testimony, and administrative law matters
- Track and manage state and federal case dockets
- Provide legal analysis on tariff, policy, strategic, and regulatory issues
- Partner with executives, subject matter experts, and outside counsel
- Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, and stipulations
- Review and negotiate complex commercial contracts
- Deliver corporate legal support (governance, HR, compliance)
- Lead or support special projects with organization-wide impact
- Work daily in close coordination with staff subject matter experts in executing these responsibilities

To be successful as an Attorney, we're looking for:Education Requirements:- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
Experience Requirements:- Membership in a State Bar as an attorney to be qualified to practice law
- Knowledge of federal, state and local laws Licensed to practice law
- Consistently demonstrated flexibility and the ability to function with constantly changing multiple priorities
- Consistently demonstrated ability to independently handle complex projects and initiatives with minimal management oversight
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to provide outstanding legal work product
- Ability to analyze case law, regulatory decisions and policy guidelines and provide recommendations to Managing Attorneys and Associate General Counsels
- Consistently demonstrated ability to work as a team member in a fast paced environment
- Demonstrated leadership ability Consistently demonstrated excellent planning and organizational skills
- Understanding of, compliance with and enforcement of SPP Policies and Procedures
Preferred Qualifications:- Top 15% of law school class and member of law review
Position Type, Location, and Expected Hours of Work:- This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Little Rock, Arkansas. Days and hours of workweek are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Working extended hours may be required.
Work Environment:This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
