We are seeking an experienced Attorney to provide strategic legal guidance across a dynamic range of business, intellectual property, entertainment, operational, and compliance matters.
Position SummaryThe Attorney will serve as a key legal advisor to Paisley Park leadership, supporting day-to-day business operations while helping protect and advance the organization's interests. This role requires a practical, business-minded legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively balance risk management with operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Provide legal counsel on contracts, business transactions, partnerships, sponsorships, licensing agreements, and vendor relationships.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide variety of commercial agreements.
- Advise on intellectual property matters, including trademarks, copyrights, licensing, and brand protection.
- Support museum, entertainment, event, retail, hospitality, and digital business operations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Manage and coordinate outside counsel when necessary.
- Develop and maintain internal policies, procedures, and governance documentation.
- Advise leadership on employment-related legal matters and organizational risk management.
- Monitor legal developments affecting the entertainment, tourism, hospitality, and nonprofit sectors.
- Assist with dispute resolution, claims management, and litigation oversight.
Qualifications- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license and good standing to practice law in the state of Minnesota.
- Minimum 5-8 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in entertainment, intellectual property, corporate, business, or commercial law.
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of intellectual property law and brand protection strategies.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a variety of legal areas
- Proven ability to independently exercise sound judgment and discretion.
- Experience supporting executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in entertainment, music, media, hospitality, tourism, or cultural institutions.
- Familiarity with trademark and copyright law is preferred
- In-house counsel experience preferred, including experience in supervising and collaborating with outside counsel.
