Full Job Description
The Role

Lumen is seeking an Attorney, Technology Partnerships to support strategic technology alliances, product partnerships, and ecosystem initiatives that drive customer value and business growth. This role partners closely with product, engineering, technology alliance, and business leaders to structure, negotiate, and support agreements that enable integrated solutions and technology collaboration.

The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of legal expertise, business acumen, and technology knowledge, with experience supporting partnerships involving software, cloud, networking, or other technology-driven offerings.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate technology partnership, strategic alliance, product integration, and related commercial agreements
  • Advise business stakeholders on partnership structures, technology collaborations, intellectual property considerations, and risk management
  • Partner with product, engineering, and alliance teams to support ecosystem initiatives and joint solution development
  • Support the development and expansion of strategic technology relationships that enhance customer value and accelerate growth
  • Manage contract lifecycles, including amendments, renewals, governance requirements, and ongoing obligations
  • Align legal frameworks with product strategies, technical integrations, and commercial objectives
  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to technology transactions, software, cloud services, and emerging business models
  • Resolve complex contractual and partnership matters while balancing legal risk and business priorities


What We Look For in a Candidate

Minimum Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active license in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • 4 years of experience drafting, negotiating, and advising on commercial agreements
  • Experience supporting technology transactions, partnerships, or commercial technology agreements
  • Understanding of technology products, software, cloud services, networking, or related technical environments
  • Ability to provide practical legal guidance to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Sound business and legal judgment with the ability to balance risk and commercial objectives

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting technology alliances, strategic ecosystem relationships, product partnerships, or technical integrations
  • Experience working with product management, engineering, technology strategy, or business development teams
  • Familiarity with partnership models that drive joint solutions, interoperability, and customer value
  • Experience negotiating agreements involving software, SaaS, cloud, networking, or other technology offerings
  • In-house legal experience within a technology, telecommunications, software, or cloud services organization
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of ecosystem-based go-to-market strategies


Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges
$105,786 - $141,047 in these states: AL AR AZ FL GA IA ID IN KS KY LA ME MO MS MT ND NE NM OH OK PA SC SD TN UT VT WI WV WY
$111,074 - $148,099 in these states: CO HI MI MN NC NH NV OR RI
$116,364 - $155,152 in these states: AK CA CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY TX VA WA
