Contact Email: [email protected] DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis position focuses on providing legal representation and prosecutorial support to the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission as it carries out its investigative and enforcement responsibilities. As an Attorney 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Legal Representation: Present cases before courts and tribunals during discrimination proceedings
- Case Support: Assist staff by offering legal opinions and guidance on discrimination matters
- Document Preparation: Draft subpoenas, responses, and other required legal filings
- Agreement Review: Assess proposed findings and review conciliation agreements and consent orders
- Public Engagement: Respond to public inquiries and provide presentations on discrimination law
- Training Support: Help train agency staff and others on applicable discrimination laws

Work Schedule and Additional Information:- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to three days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:- Graduation from an accredited school of law and certificate of admission to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania; or
- Completion of all preparatory steps and application to become a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Special Requirement:- Applicants must be certified for admission to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and must maintain membership on a continuous basis during employment.
Additional Requirement:- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
