Summary of Role:This role provides an opportunity to develop industry-leading ATE hardware solutions for semiconductor devices serving automotive and industrial applications. As a member of the Product and Test Engineering team, you will lead the design and support development of probe cards, load boards, and mechanical interfaces for wafer sort and package-level final test. Knowledge of analog, RF, and high-speed digital HW design requirements and care-abouts are critical to be successful in this role. Candidate should be familiar with using CAD software for HW design, drive placement and routing requirements based on device AC/DC requirements and running simulations on final layout / placement before any HW is released for fabrication. Knowledge developing mechanical solutions and interfaces of various equipment used in an engineering lab and its' overall impact to HW performance is critical.
Essential responsibilities:- Lead the review, creation, and design of ATE probe cards and load boards, from schematic capture through component placement and PCB layout, across multiple products.
- Define, develop, and qualify the electrical and mechanical specifications for ATE equipment used in roadmap test systems.
- Lead the integration, validation, qualification, and factory acceptance of proposed ATE hardware solutions.
- Possess strong hands-on experience and deep knowledge of various Analog, RF, Digital (including high-speed digital) test methods, to impact positively PCB HW design and dependencies.
- Serve as the primary technical interface for external PCB, socket, handler, and prober vendors. Lead hardware and vendor selection, define electrical and mechanical requirements, and manage vendor qualification and approval.
- Responsible for BoM selection and assembly instructions on loadboards and probe-cards.
- Act as a liaison between NPD/NPI PE and Factory on validating HW / SW at factory installed test cells and ensuring production requirements are satisfactorily met (Prober / Handler interface, Socket / Pin qualifications, Temperature Test Capabilities, etc.)
- Develop and document verification and validation procedures that demonstrate ATE systems perform as specified and meet qualification requirements.
- Create and review laboratory-equipment documentation, including user manuals, training materials, setup guides, and related technical documents.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues, document findings and corrective actions, and communicate results clearly to stakeholders.
Other Responsibilities:- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Required Qualifications:- BSEE with minimum >20 yrs of experience in Test PCB / Loadboard hardware design and/or ATE HW mechanical interface design experience.
- Extensive hands-on knowledge of RF, analog, and mixed-signal test methods, including the ATE hardware design requirements needed to implement those methods.
- Proficiency with relevant PCB design, mechanical CAD, and circuit-simulation tools, such as AutoCAD and PSpice, and with Microsoft Visio for technical documentation.
- Ability to author process documents and specifications for SOP for an engineering lab.
- Ability to debug and identify problems, root-cause analysis, and drive corrective actions.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex ATE hardware issues at the board, interconnect, and system-interface levels.
- Excellent interpersonal skills - energetic, motivated, and self-driven.
- Demonstrate ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across global teams while working independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills; demonstrate ability to manage multiple tasks.
