Full Job Description
Summary: (Virtual / Remote Role) As an Associate Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for the independent execution of multiple small to medium sized projects from planning to execution phases of projects’ delivery lifecycle. This role drive initiatives in a matrixed delivery environment across multiple business functions and engineering teams. In this role, you’re responsible for thorough planning: establishing structured project set up and stakeholder management, driving executional milestones, timelines and dependencies, and managing technical and business risks through mitigation planning to deliver enterprise value. You will be responsible for managing projects using agile and waterfall methods.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Own the end-to-end planning and delivery of technical programs, from kickoff through launch and post-launch support with general supervision. Create, document, and maintain project plans and coordinate tasks required for timely completion of enterprise initiatives. 
  • Project Leadership: With peer support as needed, drive the creation of workflow diagrams, design documents, and product documentation, and partner with Engineering and Business with creation of project collateral.
  • Technical Project Execution: Leveraging subject matter experts to coordinate and build understanding on technical project components and derisk the technical details of the development and break down complex project work to provide clarity and coordinate across engineers, development managers, and product managers.
  • Resource Management: Monitor and elevate known needs for resources through discussions of trade-offs with other teams to maximize the company’s overall goals.
  • Risk and Dependency Management: Manage dependencies, risks, and schedules. Identify and understand up and downstream impacts of decision making and timeline changes.  
  • Project Advocacy: Help lead and coordinate cross-functionally to ensure project objectives are understood and met.
  • Manage Initiative Changes: Anticipate, understand, document, and facilitate governance around changes required within initiatives (e.g. scope, resource requirements, schedules, etc.).
  • Initiative Communication and Change Management: Capture and report program status to stakeholders at various levels, including leadership, using clear, concise updates. Drive and communicate project milestone tracking on a regular cadence – including launch announcements, project change requests, project governance updates and dependent workstream management.
  • May assume other duties as applied.

 

Required Skills:

  • Project Management Methodologies: Utilizes analytical and organizational skills to keep projects on track, problem solve and collaborate across project management team to elevate enterprise impacts
  • Project Management and Presentation Tools: Proficiency in utilizing suite of tools across project management capacities to facilitate project management and communications within various project management methodologies (agile, waterfall), including but not limited to: Microsoft Suite, JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication to drive stakeholder management and effective decision making. Ability to speak up confidently to drive action, while building trust and perception of ownership of the plan. Ability to effectively communicate up and down throughout the organization from executive to developer
  • Technical Expertise: Ability to apply technical knowledge to solve complex problems and elevate informed recommendations for decision. Ability to speak to project details with cross functional technology and business teams
  • Leadership and Collaboration Skills: Ability to lead and motivate cross functional teams, fostering collaboration, trust and transparency. The proven ability to drive forward with action through ambiguity
  • Drive Deliverables through Influence: Ability to manage cross-organizational programs and ability to set and hold teams and individuals to timelines and deliverables without explicit authority
  • Remote Working: Experience working with remote teams in different countries and cultures

Preferred Skills:

  • Proven experience in large-scale technology project management within a service-based organization, ensuring exceptional delivery to multiple end-users
  • Experience in management multiple complex projects at scale.

Physical Role Requirements: Be seated at a computer intermittently for up to eight hours a day.  Move up to 10 pounds occasionally, by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise repositioning objects.  Sitting for long periods of time while using office equipment such as computers and phones.  Repetitive motions using hands and digits; such as movement of wrists, hands and fingers while picking, pinching and typing during your normal working environment. 

Minimum Education, Licensure and Professional Certification requirements: Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, other related fields. PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred

Minimum Experience required (number of years necessary to perform role): 2+ years of experience preferred in managing technology projects in support of a highly technical environment, including experience in managing work in an agile environment

Travel: 15%

FLSA (Exempt or Non-Exempt): Exempt

Compensation:

This role pays a base salary between $85,000 and $100,000 per annum, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, responsibilities, experience, and location.
