Job Description:L3Harris seeks skilled Software Engineers to join our System Software group, where you will architect next-generation, mission-critical solutions. Our team is responsible for developing the core software infrastructure that integrates advanced communications technologies across complex subsystems. Essential Functions:- Knowledge and experience of embedded real-time software development (VxWorks/Linux).
- Work closely with cross-functional team members to develop operational performance requirements, interface software and hardware components, and collaborate on system design.
- Support and participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and formal testing.
- Contribute to software test plans, procedures, and other relevant technical documentation.
- Demonstrates depth of knowledge in programming languages, compilers, and application execution.
- Participate in peer reviews, identify, track and repair defects.
- Utilize a variety of software languages on Windows, Linux and embedded real time operating systems.
Requied Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related field.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience in software development particularly utilizing object-oriented programming methodologies.
- Strong C++ skills.
- Experience with high performance and multi-threaded programming.
- Demonstrates depth of knowledge in programming languages, compilers, and application execution.
- Demonstrated curiosity and ability to learn outside of core discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:- Proficiency with C++.
- Experience with hands-on software development and troubleshooting on embedded targets utilizing an RTOS (Real-Time Operating System).
- Working knowledge of signal processing, control systems theory, or networking fundamentals.
- Familiarity with key protocols such as IP, UDP, TCP, IPSec, DDS, or SNMP.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Solid presentation and writing skills.
- Previous professional experience working within the Department of Defense (DoD) or intelligence community.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
