What you’ll do in the role:
Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. is seeking an Associate, Software Engineer in New York, New York to develop and maintain enterprise-level applications using Java and microservices architecture. Work with distributed systems, relational databases, and cloud-native technologies to deliver scalable solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams throughout the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance. Implement data modeling solutions and work with knowledge graph technologies to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives. Utilize DevOps practices, continuous integration tools, and automation scripting to ensure efficient development workflows. Work in Linux environments with middleware technologies and containerized applications to build robust, high-performance systems. Telecommuting permitted up to Three (3) days per week.
What you’ll bring to the role:
-Requires a Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
-Requires one (1) year of experience in the position offered or one (1) year as a Software Developer, React Developer, or a related role.
-Requires one (1) year of experience with the following skills
- Java;
- Java Spring framework;
- Angular;
- Spring Boot;
- Keylines and metphacts;
- SQL;
- SPARQL;
- Developing scalable RESTful APIs and microservices;
- Distributed caching and relational databases DB2 and PostgreSQL;
- Integrating Kafka for middleware messaging; Operating in Linux environments;
- Applying distributed system design principles and implementing fault tolerance patterns including circuit breakers and timeouts;
- Collaborating in Agile teams using DevOps tools and practices for automated testing and deployment;
- Building cloud-native applications using Docker containers;
- Automating tasks and workflows using Python scripting;
- Implementing Knowledge Graphs using Stardog;
- Utilizing Grafana and Splunk for observability and monitoring;
- Maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and GitLab CI; and
- Designing and developing ETL pipelines for structured and semi-structured data.
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $137,800 and $150,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
