Full Job Description
The QTAS Department within AbbVie's South San Francisco location is seeking a highly motivated scientist to support the creation and implementation of flow cytometry (FCM) based pharmacodynamic cell-based assays that promote the development of novel therapies from the bench to the clinic. In addition, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmaceutical sciences, bioinformatics, ability to drive cutting-edge science and work in a matrix environment. The candidate will work in a highly collaborative environment with the overall objective to incorporate emerging technologies and streamline data analysis for early and late-stage drug development pipelines. In addition, you will have opportunities to contribute to broader areas within QTAS as your experience and expertise warrants.
• Work as part of a highly collaborative interdisciplinary team in an integrated early drug development laboratory
• Conduct laboratory studies in support of pharmacodynamic biomarker development and execution of individual immune-oncology and immunology R&D projects using flow cytometry
• Independently design, implement and monitor flow cytometric biomarker assays as well as data collection in early pre-clinical and clinical trials
• Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in both conventional and spectral flow cytometry: BD Fortessa X20, BD Symphony, and Cytek Aurora/Aurora Evo
• Maintaining existing R coding scripts in support of preclinical and clinical biomarker data
• Implement bioinformatic scripts and develop data visualization approaches for preclinical studies
• Evaluate emerging algorithms and approaches to improve rigorous assay development and internal quality control measures
• Interact with cross-functional teams to establish productive collaborations
