Your new role

The purpose of this Associate position is to work closely with the US Real Assets team with a focus on Infrastructure including Digital, Energy / Energy Transition and Transport / Logistics Infrastructure. The role involves transaction execution across investments across the US (including co-investments and co-underwrite investments), asset management of both direct investments and partner led investments across the portfolio, as well as partner selection and fund commitments.

This is a position based on-site at 1251 Avenues of the Americas, with a hybrid work schedule.

Key Responsibilities

New Investments

Working collaboratively with the broader team, the role will require candidates to undertake complex investment analysis which includes:
  • Researching, analyzing and evaluating a variety of markets, infrastructure sectors and investment opportunities within the Real Assets mandate;
  • Undertaking complex financial modelling and testing assumptions and sensitivities to assess returns and valuation; maintaining primary responsibility for valuation outputs and serving as the principal point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on modelling and valuation matters;
  • Conducting detailed investment and valuation analysis to support the transaction team's assessment of prospective investments, and contributing across all due diligence and execution workstreams throughout the transaction lifecycle as required;
  • Contributing to the screening, evaluation and selection of external sponsors to support commitments to high-conviction funds managed by best-in-class partners; and
  • Contribute to the preparation of investment memos, transaction materials and presentations, and supporting the development of investment recommendations.


Investment Asset Management

Working collaboratively with the broader team to undertake asset and portfolio management functions, including:
  • Undertaking ongoing asset management activities across direct investments, partner-led investments and Fund investments, with the objective of maximising value and enhancing long-term returns for the Fund within a partner-led asset management framework;
  • Maintaining asset valuation models and preparing analysis and supporting materials for quarterly valuation reviews and governance processes; and
  • Conducting analysis of historical and forecast asset performance, including scenario and sensitivity assessments to support asset management and strategic decision-making.

Pay transparency notice

The compensation range for this position is $220,000 to $260,000 (this is based on full-time hours, located in New York City). The pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience and refers to the amount AustralianSuper is willing to pay at the time of posting.
