OverviewThe
Associate Project Manager supports the planning and delivery of projects across Univest under the guidance of experienced Project Managers and PMO leadership. This role is designed for someone with foundational project coordination or project management experience who brings practical knowledge of banking or financial-services operations. The Associate Project Manager will manage lower-complexity projects and defined workstreams, maintain core project controls, coordinate stakeholders and vendors, and progressively assume greater delivery responsibility through coaching and hands-on experience.
Responsibilities - Manage lower-complexity projects and defined workstreams with guidance from an experienced Project Manager or PMO leader, increasing independence as capability develops.
- Support project initiation by helping clarify the business need, objectives, scope, stakeholders, expected outcomes, assumptions, constraints, and dependencies.
- Develop and maintain project plans, milestone schedules, task assignments, action-item logs, decision logs, risk and issue logs, and other required PMO artifacts.
- Coordinate project meetings, prepare agendas and materials, document decisions and action items, and follow up with owners to support timely completion.
- Track progress against approved scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables; identify variances and raise concerns promptly.
- Coordinate cross-functional work among business teams, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Information Security, vendors, and other project resources.
- Prepare clear project status updates that summarize accomplishments, upcoming milestones, decisions, risks, issues, dependencies, financial considerations, and required actions.
- Support risk, issue, dependency, and change management by maintaining accurate records, monitoring follow-up, and escalating items that exceed the role's authority or experience.
- Help project teams prepare for governance and lifecycle reviews, including kickoff, phase gates, testing readiness, Go or No-Go decisions, implementation, closeout, and After Action Review activities.
- Coordinate project support for testing and user acceptance testing, training, communications, operational readiness, implementation, and post-go-live stabilization as assigned.
- Partner with Business Analysts and business owners to keep scope, requirements, project plans, decisions, and delivery activities aligned.
- Support vendor coordination by scheduling working sessions, tracking vendor deliverables and dependencies, documenting open items, and escalating performance or timing concerns.
- Maintain complete and organized project documentation in approved repositories and project-management tools.
- Apply Univest project management standards, templates, governance expectations, and documentation requirements consistently.
- Build working knowledge of Univest's business lines, products, platforms, operational processes, and control environment to improve project planning and stakeholder coordination.
- Seek coaching and feedback, apply lessons learned, and progressively develop the judgment and independence needed to manage projects of greater complexity.
- Maintain accountability for compliance with laws and regulations applicable to the position, including the Univest Code of Conduct.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, project management, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Two to four years of experience in banking, financial services, project coordination, business analysis, operations, implementation, or a comparable delivery role, including at least some direct exposure to projects or cross-functional initiatives.
- Working knowledge of banking or financial-services operations, products, customer or employee processes, and the importance of risk, compliance, controls, and operational readiness.
- Demonstrated ability to organize work, maintain plans and documentation, track action items and dependencies, and follow through on commitments.
- Experience coordinating meetings, documenting decisions, communicating status, and escalating questions or risks to the appropriate project leader.
- Ability to work with business partners, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, vendors, and other cross-functional stakeholders in a professional and collaborative manner.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
- Sound judgment and willingness to ask questions, seek guidance, accept feedback, and build project management capability over time.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience supporting projects within a bank, credit union, financial-services company, or similarly regulated environment.
- Experience with Jira, Microsoft Planner, Microsoft Project, or a comparable project or work-management platform.
- Exposure to Agile, iterative, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery practices.
- CAPM certification, project management coursework, or active progress toward a related credential.
- Exposure to vendor implementations, system changes, process improvement, regulatory initiatives, or operational readiness activities.
Wage Range: The salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000
