Overview

Associate Project Manager / Project Engineer supports construction project execution through project coordination, documentation, estimating, technical support, progress tracking, stakeholder communication, and compliance with safety, quality, regulatory, and contract requirements. This role assists with planning, problem-solving, field coordination, and administrative project tasks to help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and successfully. Travel or deployment to other project locations may be required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Project coordination, administration, documentation, reporting, and execution support
  • VISTA project controls, including cost tracking, purchase requisitions, pay applications, change orders, and EAC updates
  • Project documentation management, including daily reports, meeting notes, submittals, RFIs, QC documents, schedules, deliverables, closeout records, as-builts, and turnover packages
  • Subcontractor and owner pay applications, change orders, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, material documentation, and approval coordination
  • Schedule, budget, contract, client, drawing, specification, code, permit, safety, environmental, and quality compliance support
  • Project planning, estimating, RFP responses, work sequencing, manpower planning, execution plans, field work plans, lifting plans, and hydro test planning support
  • Coordination with Project Managers, Superintendents, QC Managers, SSHOs, Foremen, subcontractors, vendors, fabrication facilities, and client representatives
  • Field inspections, field coordination, daily construction monitoring, and technical support for active construction activities
  • Project start-up, pre-construction meeting, subcontractor coordination, project execution, closeout, and final document turnover support
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly project status reporting for internal and client reporting
  • Zero-incident safety and environmental culture support, including EM 385, permit, corporate standard, client procedure, and regulatory compliance
  • Technical requirement clarification, issue resolution, and project execution support with client technical authorities, field leaders, and internal teams
  • Technical resource support for interpretation of drawings, specifications, codes, laws, regulations, and project requirements
  • Travel to job sites, regional offices, and project locations as needed; field and office duties as required
  • Other duties as assigned


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Possess or acquire skills to manage duties using VISTA Project Management system
  • Understand technical and administrative aspects of construction project management phases
  • Thoroughly grasp construction project lifecycle

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of construction project management, project engineering, or related experience in commercial, civil, or federal government construction
  • Experience working on construction projects with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and/or Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC)
  • Demonstrated understanding of federal government construction processes, documentation, and compliance requirements
  • Ability to support assigned tasks, manage small projects, and assist with overall project execution
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare project cost estimates, schedules, scopes of work, and change management documentation
  • Ability to support feasibility studies, subcontractor coordination, project controls, and construction administration activities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with strong Excel skills
  • Proficient in project management software; VISTA experience preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to completing projects safely and in an environmentally responsible manner


Preferred:
  • Prior experience supporting USACE, NAVFAC, or other federal government construction projects as a prime contractor or general contractor
  • Experience supporting submittals, RFIs, change orders, pay applications, scheduling, cost tracking, and closeout documentation


WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The majority of the work is performed in a professional office setting with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work typically involves sedentary tasks, with occasional requirements for walking, standing, bending, and carrying items weighing up to forty pounds. Essential vision abilities for this role include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. During job duties, the employee is regularly expected to sit, use hands for various tasks, reach with hands and arms, and communicate verbally. Travel is required.

SALARY & BENEFITS: Salary range for this position is $100,000.00-$110,000.00 per year. Exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, education, certifications, and work location. Employees are eligible to enroll in medical, vision, dental, flexible spending, employee assistance program, group and voluntary life and disability insurance and 401(k) retirement plan. Paid Time Off, 10 paid holidays, 5 bereavement and 10 jury duty paid leave.
