Full Job Description
What You'll Do:

Perform various types of engineering analyses and design associated with deep and shallow foundations, earth retaining structures, excavation support systems, soil settlement, slope stability, soil dynamics and earthquake engineering, groundwater flow and seepage, earthen embankments/dams/reservoirs, tunnels, and asphalt and concrete pavement under the supervision of a licensed engineer.

Duties include:
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, conducting, and/or coordinating field and laboratory services for a wide range of project types, including new design, forensic investigations, and
  • repair/remediation.
  • Assist in preparing reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of drawings and project specifications suitable for construction.
  • Perform construction administration and construction monitoring duties.
  • Assist in the preparation of scopes, schedules, and budgets for proposals.

Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Geotechnical/GeoStructural Engineering.
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate basic knowledge (gained through education/experience) of any of the following industry software: GEOSLOPE Suite, Slide, LPILE, Settle3D, AutoCAD, or Civil3D.
  • Qualified candidates must demonstrate strong knowledge of geotechnical theory and behavior through a technical test administered during the job interview process.
  • Eligible to telecommute 1-2 days/week from a home office within normal commuting distance of Waltham, MA.
  • Qualified candidates must have the ability to travel to remote job sites not accessible by public transportation.
  • May require domestic travel to project sites up to 10% of time. Travel may include nights and weekends.

Compensation:

This compensation range is a good faith estimate pursuant to applicable equal pay and pay transparency laws. The actual salary offered will be based on several factors including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and work location.

Base salary is a part of SGH's industry leading Total Compensation package. Our Total Compensation package includes base salary, pay for extra hours worked, an annual discretionary bonus program, generous paid time off, and health and wellness benefits with a special emphasis on substantial SGH contributions to medical insurance premiums and SGH's Profit Sharing & 401(k) Plan.

This position is eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus.
