Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.

Responsibilities Position Responsibilities
  • Gathers, analyzes, and documents business and technical requirements for new or modified information systems.
  • Partners with business stakeholders and technical teams to translate operational needs into functional system solutions.
  • Supports the design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of business applications and systems.
  • Evaluates existing systems and processes to identify opportunities for improved performance, functionality, and efficiency.
  • Develops functional specifications, process flows, test plans, procedures, and user documentation.
  • Performs system and user-acceptance testing, documents results, and coordinates the resolution of identified issues.
  • Troubleshoots moderately complex system problems, performs root-cause analysis, and recommends corrective actions.
  • Coordinates system changes and enhancements while ensuring compatibility with existing and planned capabilities.
  • Supports system integrations, data conversion, reporting, and input/output requirements.
  • Maintains system configurations, documentation, and applicable controls in accordance with company standards.
  • Communicates project status, risks, issues, and recommended solutions to stakeholders.
  • Provides system guidance, training, and ongoing support to end users.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to complete assignments and meet established project deadlines.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Builds and codes applications and/or modules using languages and concepts such as C++, ABAP, JAVA, XTML, visual basic, etc.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field and at least two years of relevant experience; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and technical requirements.
  • Experience supporting, testing, implementing, or maintaining business systems and applications.
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and recommend effective solutions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across business and technical teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet established deadlines.
  • Application project management, oversight including patching and upgrades.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working as a functional analyst, business systems analyst, or in a similar role.
  • Experience supporting enterprise systems, integrated applications, or data-management solutions.
  • Knowledge of system-development lifecycle practices, including requirements, design, testing, implementation, and ongoing support.
  • Experience developing process flows, functional specifications, test plans, and user documentation.
  • Experience with data analysis, reporting tools, system interfaces, or database concepts.
  • Experience troubleshooting system issues and coordinating resolutions with technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or other project-management methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills within a team-based environment.
  • Working knowledge of aerospace industry practices and standards.
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Residency in or willingness to relocate to the Wichita, KS area.

Summary Pay Range: $80,350 - $123,150
