Position OverviewNeomorph is seeking an experienced drug discovery biologist with extensive experience participating in or leading programs through strategic, intellectual, and experimental contributions. The role will be critically involved in supporting Neomorph's growing pipeline by driving advancement of programs from early discovery through IND-enabling studies. The successful applicant will proactively collaborate across line functions to establish overarching project strategies and advance programs towards data-driven go/no go decisions.
Key ResponsibilitiesParticipate in and/or lead cross-functional teams to advance therapeutic candidates from early discovery to clinical development through strategic prioritization, effective interdisciplinary collaboration, and efficient technical execution.
Lead from the bench - independently lead the development and execution of project-specific cellular assays to define target mechanism of action, assess markers of pharmacodynamic response, and identify relevant patient populations.
Design and implement effective triaging strategies to support SAR advancement and refinement of target compound profiles based on deep mechanistic understanding of underlying biology.
Generate and lead new target nomination/identification/validation activities that leverage unique aspects of the molecular glue degrader modality.
Anticipate, evaluate, and strategically respond to changes in scientific, competitive, or regulatory landscape.
Effectively communicate scientific advancements, strategic shifts, and risk assessments to project stakeholders.
Contribute to Neomorph's culture of scientific rigor, open collaboration, and continuous learning by openly sharing expertise and providing mentorship to junior scientists.
Required Qualifications - PhD with 6+ years, MS with 9+ years, or BS with 11+ years of industry experience
- Track record of strategic, creative, and effective advancement of preclinical drug discovery programs supported by robust data packages
- Demonstrated experience independently developing and implementing robust, reproducible SAR-enabling assay cascades supporting drug discovery programs
- Experience successfully managing a team directing and coaching employees.
- Experience participating in and/or leading cross-functional teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Desire and capacity to participate in a dynamic and fast-paced research setting
- Desire and capacity to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with targeted protein degradation
- Experience managing teams of one or more associate scientists
