Lending | Portfolio Management | Portfolio Manager - Associate | New York

About the position:

This is an Associate position and will require coordination between sector and product specialists, offshore portfolio support teams and risk management.

About the department:

You are a member of a small team responsible for Portfolio Management for Transportation loans with a focus on Rail, Container and Aviation. In this team you are responsible for a number of transactions for which you execute amendments, extension, credit reviews and are responsible for internal reporting. Next to Rail, Containers and Aviation you will also have the opportunity to focus on other object finance transactions in sectors like Shipping and Real Estate but also Project Finance structured deals.

Responsibilities :
  • The Portfolio Management (PM) team aims to be the 'center of excellence' for the management of ING's lending portfolio to multiple sectors.
  • You will specialize in Transportation finance but will also be exposed to other sectors such as Real Estate, Infra, TMT and Energy based on your preferences.
  • This includes (but not limited to) analyzing the credit risks of the transactions/portfolio via credit reviews, risk ratings, maintaining data quality and monitoring of covenants and early waring indicators
  • Furthermore, you are responsible for all loan amendments incl refinancings, extensions, etc.
  • You are and stay on top of developments in the Transportation sector.
  • Clients, internal departments (including risk and relationship management) and other stakeholders (such as legal advisers and other banks) will turn to you as their primary contact the loan portfolio you manage.
  • You will control, review and edit portfolio management procedures in accordance with the organization manuals and contribute to the production of various reports, e.g. limits and country reviews.
  • You are involved in portfolio and balance sheet optimization measures to optimize the lending portfolio's performance in view of risk profile, income and RoE.

Salary range: $130,000-$175,000

The salary range listed reflects base salary only. This role is eligible for participation in a discretionary bonus program.
