Associate Physician, Department of Surgery, Division of Pediatric Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery BC Children's Hospital Vancouver, BC The Associate Physician provides inpatient medical care for patients within the Division of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery under the supervision of attending surgeons. The Associate Physician collaborates with surgeons, intensivists, anesthesiologists, nurses, allied health professionals, residents, and other healthcare team members to deliver safe, evidence-based, patient- and family-centered care throughout the preoperative, operative, and postoperative phases. Reporting to the Head, Division of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, and practices under the supervision of designated cardiovascular and thoracic surgeons in accordance with provincial Associate Physician regulations and hospital bylaws.
We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Physician to join our division of Pediatric Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing complex cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures.
The Associate Physician practices under the supervision of attending cardiovascular and thoracic surgeons and plays an integral role in the management of surgical patients throughout the continuum of care. Responsibilities include inpatient assessment and management, perioperative care, participation in multidisciplinary rounds, coordination of patient care, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
We welcome applications from physicians with a medical degree and relevant postgraduate clinical training who meet the eligibility requirements for Associate Physician licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).
