Position overview
Position title: Division Chief of Child Neurology
Salary range: The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and, if applicable, rank and/or step. The pay range for this position is $325,000 - $400,000. Salary is negotiated annually. Position description

The Department of Neurosciences at the University of California San Diego is committed to academic excellence among its faculty, staff, and student body and is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Division Chief of Child Neurology at UC San Diego and Rady Children's Hospital San Diego. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead and advance a dynamic, growing division within a top-10 academic institution and freestanding children's hospital.

The selected candidate will collaborate with a large team of pediatric neurologists (currently 24 physicians on staff) engaged in clinical research and trials, basic science research, teaching, and patient care within our rapidly expanding Child Neurology Division.

The selected candidate will advance the clinical, educational, and research missions of the department through excellence in patient care, teaching, mentorship, and scholarly activities, while maintaining a strong track record of research and publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Candidates with interests in pediatric nervous system disorders, program development, leadership, and leading clinical and/or research programs related to Child Neurology are encouraged to apply.

The appointment will be based on the candidate's background and experience. Series will include 50% Ladder Rank / 50% In-Residence with secured extramural funding or 100% Ladder Rank.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Candidates must have an MD or equivalent degree and be board certified in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology.

Candidates must also have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
