Purpose of the Role:Working closely with the Nicola Mortgage Investment Team, this individual will support investment monitoring and deliver insights on portfolio performance, exposures, and stakeholder reporting, leveraging strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and technical proficiency.
The role provides exposure to the Private Capital platform across five investment verticals, while also offering a unique opportunity to develop an in-depth understanding of the Nicola Mortgage Funds.
About the team: The Middle Office team within Private Capital is responsible for investment monitoring, performance analysis, and portfolio reporting across all Private Capital funds. The team plays a key role in ensuring high-quality, accurate, and timely information is available to support portfolio oversight and reporting.
This is a hybrid role based in our Vancouver office.
Core Responsibilities:- Monitor the performance of existing portfolio investments.
- Analyze financial statements, partner reports, and key performance drivers for existing portfolio investments.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly portfolio reports, including performance analysis, exposures, and key insights for stakeholders.
- Support the review and updating of internal credit risk ratings.
- Prepare cash flow projections as guided by the investment team.
- Maintain investment data across multiple portfolio management systems.
- Support internal stakeholders through presentations and ad-hoc project work.
- Identify operational risks and drive process improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:- A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in the Commercial Real Estate Industry, or within Private Capital/Real Assets.
- Undergraduate degree in business, accounting, finance or real estate.
- Experience with performance measurement methodologies and attribution models.
- Working experience with PowerBI, SimCorp, Salesforce, or similar programs considered an asset.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada for any employer.
Compensation & Benefits Package:This position comes with a base salary range of
$100,000 - $120,000 plus a competitive performance bonus, RRSP contribution and participation in our profit-sharing program. Base salary will be commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.
