Job Description

WTW is seeking an experienced investment operations professional to join our Trade Management team in Toronto, supporting our Delegated Investment Solutions (OCIO) business. This role combines traditional trade management responsibilities with the planning and implementation of complex portfolio transitions. The successful candidate will lead high-profile implementation events, coordinate multiple stakeholders, manage operational risk, provide day-to-day oversight and guidance to the team, and help ensure the successful delivery of strategic client initiatives.

The Role
  • Lead the planning and implementation of complex trade and transition events across client portfolios, pooled funds and institutional mandates.
  • Provide day-to-day oversight and guidance to team members, helping to ensure operational activities are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with established procedures and controls.
  • Review key operational deliverables, exceptions and implementation activities, providing quality assurance and escalating risks or issues where appropriate.
  • Develop trade and transition implementation strategies, including execution approaches, transition sequencing, funding requirements and operational readiness assessments.
  • Coordinate implementation activities across portfolio management teams, asset managers, custodians, middle office teams, transition managers and external service providers.
  • Monitor and resolve trade, transition and operational issues, ensuring timely escalation and resolution of risks and exceptions.
  • Lead manager transitions, portfolio restructures, in-specie transfers, asset migrations and other complex implementation events.
  • Support the operational implementation of new pooled funds, investment structures and onboarding initiatives.
  • Act as the primary operational lead for assigned projects, maintaining implementation plans, managing dependencies and providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Portfolio Management, Middle Office, Legal, Compliance, custodians and investment managers.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of operating procedures, controls, systems and team capabilities through process improvement, coaching and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

The Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in institutional investment operations, trading, transition management, implementation management or a related investment operations function.
  • Strong understanding of investment products, trade lifecycles, portfolio implementation and operational controls.
  • Experience coordinating complex implementation events involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects, deliver against deadlines and navigate ambiguity.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risks and develop practical solutions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, investment managers, custodians and service providers.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft suite.
  • Experience working with OMS, EMS or investment operations platforms.
  • Knowledge of transition management, asset transfers, fund launches or manager change events would be considered a strong asset.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Hybrid working environment, Tuesday and Wednesday office attendance required in Toronto.


Compensation

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $83,000 to $85,000 CAD per year.

This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
