How you will make history here...

The Associate Manager, Maintenance oversees all plant maintenance activities, collaborating with key stakeholders to support the plant's strategic goals focused on Safety, People, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. This role involves leading training and capability development initiatives to build a high-performance maintenance team. Additionally, the Associate Manager, Maintenance will recommend and implement improvements to engineering and maintenance practices to ensure maximum operational efficiency. This position manages a team of 30+ employees responsible for assets across 5 production lines in a high-speed food manufacturing facility.

What you will do...
  • Asset Care & Reliability Strategy: Develop and lead the implementation of the site's Asset Care and Reliability strategy across all production and utility systems, ensuring alignment with plant financial, operational, and strategic objectives. Drive execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Maintenance Execution & Technical Support: Provide technical expertise to support equipment selection, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Ensure effective execution of maintenance work through standardized processes, CMMS utilization, and adherence to planning and scheduling discipline.
  • People Development & Leadership: Build, develop, and lead a high-performing Maintenance team. Ensure employees have the capabilities, tools, materials, and resources required to safely and effectively execute maintenance activities. Establish clear expectations, provide coaching, and drive accountability to achieve business results.
  • Operational Excellence Integration: Partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and OpEx teams to support continuous improvement initiatives. Leverage maintenance systems and loss analysis to improve key plant KPIs (e.g., OEE, downtime, cost, quality).
  • Problem Solving & Reliability Improvement: Lead root cause analysis (RCA) efforts for equipment failures and chronic losses. Partner cross-functionally to implement sustainable corrective actions and improve overall asset performance.
  • Capital & Strategic Planning: Support development and execution of capital and expense plans for maintenance-related initiatives. Identify, prioritize, and justify investments that improve reliability, safety, and cost performance.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Manage maintenance labor, materials, and contractor spend to meet operational needs while optimizing cost. Ensure appropriate allocation of resources to balance planned and unplanned work.
  • Safety & Compliance Leadership: Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in compliance with safety standards, GMPs, and regulatory requirements. Promote a culture of safety ownership and accountability within the maintenance organization.


  • Leadership & Team Development: Lead and develop a diverse maintenance workforce while maintaining engagement, accountability, and high performance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Influence and align with operations and support functions to drive maintenance priorities and plant performance outcomes.
  • Operational Effectiveness: Drive improvements in maintenance processes, including planning/scheduling, PM/PdM compliance, and reduction of reactive work.
  • Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety, food safety, and regulatory standards across all maintenance activities.
  • Resource & Cost Management: Balance labor, materials, and contractor resources to meet production needs while maintaining cost discipline.
  • Technical Expertise: Maintain and apply knowledge of maintenance systems, reliability methodologies, and manufacturing technologies.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate equipment and process risks to minimize downtime and business disruption.
  • Performance Management: Track and analyze key maintenance metrics (e.g., downtime, PM compliance, schedule adherence, cost) to drive continuous improvement.

What you will bring to the table... (Must Have)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience, preferably in food manufacturing

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline
  • Demonstrated leadership capability with a focus on performance, engagement, and accountability
  • Experience in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) or similar reliability systems
  • Six Sigma, CMRP, or equivalent certification
  • Experience with CMMS systems (e.g., SAP) and MRO/storeroom operations
  • Working knowledge of safety standards, GMPs, and sanitary design principles
  • Experience applying reliability tools (RCM, FMEA, RCA)
  • Experience in a continuous manufacturing environment and matrixed organization


Physical Requirements
  • This role operates in both office and manufacturing environments, requiring regular presence on the production floor and in mechanical or utility spaces.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods while conducting inspections, supporting projects, and overseeing contractor activities.
  • Requires the ability to move throughout the facility, including navigating stairs, ladders, mezzanines, and confined areas where applicable.
  • Occasionally required to bend, reach, kneel, crouch, or climb while inspecting or evaluating equipment and systems.
  • Must be able to lift or move materials up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Requires the ability to perform desk-based work, including sitting, typing, and working on a computer for extended periods.
  • Must be able to observe and assess equipment conditions, read gauges and instrumentation, and interpret system data.


Work Environment
  • Regular exposure to manufacturing and utility environments, including:
  • Moderate to high noise levels requiring hearing protection
  • Temperature variations, including hot environments near ovens, boilers, or mechanical systems
  • Wet or slippery floors and active production areas
  • Exposure to moving mechanical equipment and powered industrial vehicles while working as a pedestrian.
  • Required use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and other site-specific gear.


Compensation and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between
$97,600-$134,200

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
