The Associate Manager, Data & Analytics plays a key role in enabling data-driven decision making across the Health Products team, which is responsible for the direction, delivery and performance of Canada Life's health and well-being products.

This role partners with leadership and cross-functional teams to define reporting needs, deliver standardized dashboards and insights, and translate complex data into clear, executive-ready outputs. The Associate Manager supports strategic and operational priorities through advanced analytics, while continuously improving data processes, governance, and reporting capabilities to drive consistency, efficiency, and business impact.

What will you do?

Stakeholder management / communication
  • Partner with Health Products leadership and cross-functional teams to define reporting needs, KPIs, and success metrics.
  • Engage business stakeholders early to understand requirements, clarify definitions, and align on outputs.
  • Translate complex data into clear, concise insights and executive-ready materials.


Reporting & data management
  • Design and maintain standardized reports, dashboards, and data models to support ongoing business needs.
  • Extract, clean, and integrate data from multiple sources (e.g., claims, policy, digital) to ensure consistency and usability.
  • Establish and document data definitions, logic, and governance to enable a single source of truth.


Analytics & insight generation
  • Analyze data to identify trends, drivers, and anomalies across health products and member behaviors.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations that inform strategic and operational decisions.
  • Support ad hoc analysis to answer key business questions and quantify opportunities.

Delivery & continuous improvement
  • Own and prioritize a portfolio of reporting and analytics deliverables, ensuring quality and timeliness.
  • Automate and enhance reporting processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to evolve analytics capabilities, tools, and outputs to better support the business.


What do you need to succeed?
  • 5+ years of relevant experience and a university or college degree in a related field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience working with raw data and manipulating large datasets
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, data modelling, and Databricks, with experience creating interactive dashboards
  • Ability to work with diverse data inputs and build data marts aligned with business requirements
  • Proven ability to learn quickly, work independently, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with little to no documentation or instructions
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to produce high-quality outputs under tight timelines
  • Driven to continuously improve processes, performance, and efficiency
  • Knowledge of the organization, distribution channels, products, systems, and data is an asset
  • Ability to write complex SQL queries to extract and integrate data from multiple sources
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or R
  • Hands-on experience with Azure compute services and a good understanding of Azure Data Factory pipelines
  • Preferred: Microsoft Certified - Azure Data Analyst Associate (Power BI) certification


The base salary for this position is between $90,800 - $115,800 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
