Full Job Description
About the Role

We are expanding our Central Strategy & Operations with an Associate Manager to drive network-wide performance through advanced analytics, forecasting systems, and product-enabled operational design. This function will define how demand, labor, and inventory decisions are modeled and embedded directly into the systems that power DashMart execution.

You will own forecast accuracy metrics end to end by diving deep into data, identifying root causes of variance, building systematic tools, and developing net-new forecasting approaches leveraging advanced analytics and AI tooling. Alongside forecasting, this person will support the broader labor planning process-helping to derive insights, set goals, and drive measurable business outcomes. This will include problem-solving through planning inefficiencies by developing insights and recommendations, setting goals and driving measurable outcomes.

You will operate like a hybrid of data scientist and operator - translating insights into operational and product changes. We sit at the intersection of Strategy, Operations, Product, Engineering, and Data Science - ensuring that our models are not just accurate, but scalable and productized.

We're looking for someone who thrives in fast-paced, analytical environments and brings a strong ownership mentality. You should be comfortable building complex SQL queries, evaluating forecasting models, understanding how system logic drives frontline behavior, and translating analytical insights into concrete product and process improvements. This is a highly visible role with outsized impact on cost predictability, labor efficiency, and overall execution.

You will report to a Senior Manager within our Central Strategy & Operations team. This is a non-technical role and sits under our Strategy & Operations job family, under the office of the COO. We operate in a hybrid model - you will spend some time in your home office, in person via offsites and testing products in the field - across DashMarts and third-party stores.
You're excited about this opportunity because you will...
  • Operate. You will understand the forecasting systems that power our business inside and out - serving as the DRI for forecast accuracy and continuously improving how we predict demand and labor needs.
  • Experiment. You will identify planning variance drivers, develop hypotheses, and test model and product changes in partnership with Product, Engineering, and Data Science - including leveraging AI-enabled forecasting tools.
  • Scale. You'll transform analytical insights into operational experiments that create measurable and scalable improvements in forecast precision.
  • Build. You'll do whatever it takes to launch and maintain forecasting enhancements - from writing complex queries to drafting product requirements and supporting GTM efforts.
  • Analyze. You'll assess the operational and financial impacts of planning improvements, model tradeoffs, and iterate based on data.
  • Lead and collaborate. You'll influence a cross-functional team, including local operations, engineering, product, and data science, driving alignment on roadmap priorities.
We're excited about you because...
  • You have 4-6+ years of experience in advanced analytics, strategy, or data science-adjacent roles. DoorDash experience is a plus.
  • You're analytical. You have a strong analytical background, advanced SQL proficiency, and a deep understanding of AI tooling. You have past experience building models from scratch, you use data to forecast outcomes.
  • You solve problems from first principles. You're excited to solve forecasting and operational problems in innovative ways, and you resist "this is how it's always been done" thinking.
  • You're equally comfortable operating at 10,000 feet and 1 foot. You don't hesitate to get in the weeds with SQL and data analysis, but you're just as comfortable influencing roadmap discussions and strategic priorities.
  • You have strong business acumen and understand how forecast decisions impact cost, service levels, and network performance.
  • You have 4-6+ years of professional experience. Ideally you have experience in product operations, advanced analytics, logistics, consulting, engineering, launch operations, or business operations.
  • You have a completed Bachelor's Degree.
