Role OverviewThisposition supports a specialized legal practice focused onrepresenting homeowners involved in disputes with residentialcontractors, builders, and developers. The work centers on defectiveconstruction claims, contract disputes, project delays, mechanic'sliens, payment issues, warranty matters, and otherconstruction-related litigation.
Theideal candidate is a motivated attorney who enjoys advocacy, takesownership of cases, and is eager to develop strong trial skills.Prior construction law experience is helpful but not required.
RequirementsKey Responsibilities- Conductclient consultations and develop litigation strategies
- Draftpleadings, motions, and discovery
- Takeand defend depositions
- Arguemotions in court
- Participatein mediations and settlement negotiations
- Collaboratewith construction experts and consultants
- Preparecases for trial, arbitration, and evidentiary hearings
- Maintainconsistent communication with clients throughout their matters
Attorneysin this role receive meaningful responsibility from day one and workclosely with a team lead who provides guidance and mentorship.
Qualifications- J.D.from an accredited law school
- Activelicense to practice law in Virginia (Maryland and/or D.C.admission is a plus)
- 3-5years of civil litigation and trial experience
- Stronglegal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Abilityto manage cases independently
- Experiencewith depositions, hearings, and motion practice
- Excellentclient communication and organizational skills
- Backgroundin construction, commercial, or real estate litigation ispreferred but not required
