Full Job Description
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Construction Placement team at Marsh. This role would be based in Toronto or Vancouver or additional locations. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office, in line with Marsh's hybrid working approach. In this role, you will support the underwriting and delivery of construction project portfolio solutions that meet client needs by partnering closely with client teams and insurance markets. You will apply strong technical underwriting knowledge and contribute to retention and new business outcomes through accurate, timely, and compliant placement activity.
We will count on you to:
• Review and process new project applications and issue indications, quotes and reports as required.
• Bind coverage and be responsible for the accuracy of policy documentation and transmittal
• Manage extensions and final adjustments for ongoing project placements.
• Develop proficiency with delegated underwriting authority and underwriting requirements.
• Maintain quality controls and checking work for accuracy.
• Create and maintain relationships with internal client service teams and insurance markets to provide cohesive client service.
• Investigating and reconciling account queries.
• Raising complex items to team leaders.
What you need to have:
• Experience supporting placement activities, including submissions, marketing to carriers, and binding coverage, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge of insurance markets/carriers and the ability to apply risk and industry expertise to develop appropriate placement solutions.
• Strong communication skills to interface closely with client executives and client teams in support of retention and new business production.
• Ability to follow placement procedures and maintain accurate placement system entries.
• High level of digital literacy, focusing on MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
What qualifications are necessary to have for the role?
• Demonstrated ability to drive placement/technical support activities across all placements (e.g., procedural compliance, reviewing data, updating exhibits, maintaining accurate system entries).
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and participate in developing solutions.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage a large volume of placements, competing deadlines, prioritize effectively and adapt to changing needs

• Experience in underwriting, particularly including Lloyd's capacity and Coverholder arrangements
• Technical underwriting knowledge of construction projects
The applicable base salary range for this role is $83,800 to $133,800.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
