Within GPS, the Retirement Product Innovation team focuses on designing and delivering next-generation retirement solutions for the U.S. Defined Contribution (DC) market, spanning target date funds to single strategy funds, across the emerging retirement themes of income, private markets, and personalization.
We are seeking a highly motivated Associate to help drive product innovation, research, and development efforts across BlackRock's retirement platform. This individual will support the evaluation of market opportunities, development of new product concepts, and execution of strategic product initiatives. The role provides exposure to senior leaders across internal Investments, Distribution, Product Strategy, Legal & Compliance, Technology & Operations teams, as well as external ecosystem partners.

Key Responsibilities- Support the research, evaluation, and development of new retirement products, operating models and implementation frameworks for the DC market.
- Support scalable growth by developing business cases, strategic recommendations, and presentations to support product prioritization, governance reviews, and management decision-making.
- Partner with Investment teams, Distribution, Product Strategy, Legal & Compliance, Technology & Operations, and other stakeholders and lead project managing product concepts from ideation through launch.
- Assist in the execution of new product launches and enhancements, coordinating project plans, governance approvals, implementation milestones, and cross-functional deliverables.
- Build analytical frameworks and conduct quantitative analysis to evaluate product design features, market opportunities, participant outcomes, and competitive positioning.
- Develop high-quality presentations, discussion materials, and thought leadership content for internal and external use cases.
- Monitor market, competitor, client, and industry trends to identify emerging and unmet client needs, commercialization opportunities, and broader developments across retirement, investments, regulation, and financial wellness, translating insights into actionable product opportunities.
- Contribute to broader strategic initiatives that enhance BlackRock's retirement product platform, business processes, and innovation capabilities.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree required (MBA, CFA a plus)
- 3+ years of relevant experience, preferred in asset management, corporate strategy, client portfolio management, product marketing, sales management, or institutional fundraising
- Knowledge and understanding of investment management products and liquid asset classes
- A relationship builder with outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- A natural problem-solver with intellectual curiosity and a drive to continuously learn
- Proven ability to lead sophisticated, cross-functional projects
- High energy self-starter with strong integrity and a high degree of creativity
- Strong data analytics and visualization skills are crucial
- Familiarity with industry data sources (Morningstar, Broadridge, eVestment, Preqin, etc.) a plus
For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$110,000.00 - USD$150,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits.
