This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Experienced Geologist / Hydrogeologist for our Redmond, WA, Seattle, WA, or Portland, OR offices. Be involved in projects with our Environment, Remediation, and Water Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact
  • Provide interpretation of subsurface conditions and develop conceptual geologic models using Leapfrog Geo or Leapfrog Works by Seequent;
  • Analysis and interpretation of geologic and hydrogeological data and preparation of reports;
  • Providing technical support for geologic and hydrogeologic investigations, hydrogeologic testing, geologic and hydrogeologic visualization, analytical and numerical groundwater flow modeling, contaminated sites investigations, and development of conceptual site models;
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients by providing technical expertise, being responsive and providing quality and cost targeted consulting services
  • Performing (either in a lead or supporting role) business development activities, including client contact/presentations, proposal writing, and professional society participation;
  • Serving as an internal technical resource to provide guidance/review to help ensure technical quality within WSP; and
  • Work closely with other members of the WSP Site Investigation and Remediation Team as well as the wider WSP technical community around the world in a collaborative environment
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrology, or Engineering;
  • Minimum of one-year of experience developing geologic models and conceptual site models using Leapfrog Geo or Leapfrog Works by Seequent;
  • Minimum of 1 years' experience; preferably in a consulting practice.
  • Strong all-around academic knowledge of physical geology and hydrogeology;
  • Proficiency and familiarity with soil and rock logging procedures;
  • Practical experience with physical geology/hydrogeology including groundwater sampling, monitoring well installation, and hydraulic conductivity testing;
  • Familiarity with conceptual site model development;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (including making presentations, leading discussions; technical documentation, proposal/report writing, etc.), including English fluency;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel;
  • Excellent work ethic with strong organization and time management skills;
  • Must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening;
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team; and
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Professional Geologist (PG);
  • Post-graduate degree (M.Sc., Ph.D.) in Geology, Hydrology, Engineering, or related discipline;
  • Familiarity with geophysical methods and interpretation of geophysical data;
  • Experience working with GIS-type software, digital databases, and visualization software; and
  • Programming experience including Python, R, and VBA.

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $80,169 - $84,200

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
